Good for him - I just hope the industry pays attention with big-name Blockbuster behind the move.

if i read that correctly, he only says he wants world wide premieres, instead of regional ones. he doesn't say much about actually removing the encoding.

Meh, it's not like there's any DVD player being sold around here that can't be unblocked through a simple remote-control code (which is usually done by the people at the store when you buy it), so I don't really care. :p
