After reading Charismatic's post about FS3, I decided we should nip this problem of newbies coming in asking about FS3 in the bud by putting this up on the top the main page for guests, with the HTML formatting and everything:
There will hopefully be be a 90% decline in FS3 status requests after this measure is taken.

no, because then they're gonna ask about it in the forums.
besides, charasmatic is the first person to ask about fs3 in a long time.

wool: No because that is totally retarded and so are you. :blah:

I'll append an extra sentence to my line of text to prevent that.
If you don't like it, fine. I'll send versions about Half-Life 2 and the Doom 3 alpha, since they have much greater problems with people coming in and going "Where can I download the Doom 3 alpha?" or "Where can I download the HL2 source?" than we have with FS3 lamers.

... good for you.

You might want to give it a proper width, on any browser except IE all I can see is a single pixel line of red that breaks itself occasionally.

Meh, this isn't going anywhere.
I sympathise that peolpe are tired of others asking about FS3 - but look at it from their perspective: they don't know! Try and tell them in a polite way so they don't feel like half the community just turned against them because they asked a perfectly fair question. Nowhere does it say in bold letters that FS3 is not going to be in development - keep that in mind when you respond to what they say.
If they persist - just tell them it's all been talked through before - this is the truth so it's not like you're being rude. But flaming them won't get anyone anywhere.
