Title: And now for something completely different...
Post by: mikhael on December 23, 2003, 05:13:41 pm
The Larch. Or rather, a building.

I saw something that interested me and I started screwing the Lightwave again, trying to get it back to the way it is supposed to be. Here's the results.

A cookie to whomever recognizes the origin of the building.

"By avoiding wood and timber derivatives, we have completely eliminated the risk of....Quite frankly I think the central pillar system should be reinforced a bit".

Flying Circus, Episode 16, The architects sketch. architects sketch. Architects sketch !!

Correct me if I'm wrong. This was the first thing that came to mind.

I'm kinda disappointed that Venom didn't recognize the building. Its been background shots of something I know he's seen.

Mmh... honestly, I can't say. Maybe I'll go "but of course!!!" when you tell me but right now...
I don't like that :nervous:

*heh* The reference pic I'm using, Venom, lists it as the AD-Police headquarters in Mega-Tokyo in BubbleGum Crisis.

Looks like one of the buildings in last night's Adult Swim playing of Futurama...

Futurama rocks. It really looks like a shampoo bottle though. :D

You aren't finished with it yet, are you?

No, its not finished. I have all the microwave relay dishes, antennaes, and sattelite comm dishes up on the top. I still have to add butresses on the lower walls. the doors need to be intruded properly. Air conditioning blocks and water tanks, etc need to be added. I need to detail the helicopter pads and the main garage. There's lots left to do.

Never seen it. But my guess would have been the building that got it's top floors blown out in the original C&C intro movie. :D

Ah. Well, I've only seen the 3 older  AD Police OAV ( not more recent stuff like bubblegum crisis 2040 ), and well, was a while ago, couldn't remember :p ( still can't, to be honest ).

This should be from the original BGC series, not the newer one.

It's definitely the ADP building but it's not from the original (2032-33) BGC series or at least that's not how I remember it looking from that series. Without going through all the trouble (my DVD of is R1 and I'm in R4 and it takes a whole lot of fiddling to watch it on either my R4 PS2 or R4 PC DVD Software) required to check my guess would be it's from Bubblegum Crash, a 3 episode mini-series which was made as an attempt to finish off BGC after it was left in the air when one of the companies bankrolling it went bust.

Ah, thank you, Admiral.

Still adding more details before I start screwing with the surfacing. :D
