EDIT: Problem solved. Apparantly the RAM I bought caused all this...

Does this happen in dxdiag's direct3d test runs?

Disable the integrated graphics card in the BIOS and remove the drivers for it in hardware.

Reboot can be caused by overheat also.

Um, I have to say that a basic FX 5200 probably wouldn't give much more oomph than the old GF4. More advanced, certainly, but I stuck a 5200 in my box... stuff barely moved.

Might be a bit late now but if you could possibly up the card to even the 5200 Ultra or whatever they call it... make a world of difference

I didn't want to say that, but since he has, you really shoulda got a 5600. Anyway - run dxdiag.exe and report back! :p
