Hello.

How can I enable the Bobboau's cell-shading mode?
-cell in cmdline doesn't help and Launcher says it requires some extra arts. Is that arts aviable to download?

I think cell-shading is a nice idea. For fun FS a little ;)...

05/12 build, 3.5.6c MediaVP and Launcher 3.3

it doesn't work in THL mode, thats the first thing,
second, you will need (I beleve the name is) cell.pcx, this file should be a Nx1 sized immage with dark blocs to the right and lighter to the left

ugh, you culd make it, would only take about four seconds
ust an immage than is of a certan width, say 16 pixels, and only one pixel tall, make solid blocks of color bout 4 pixels wide rangeing from very dark grey to white (from left to right),
like this

D=dark, M=medium, L=light, W=white
just put that into a simple (8 bit, 256 color, or paletised (all the same thing)) PCX file, doesn't MSpaint save as PCX?, hell if you use the -tgajpg (or whatever) comand line you can probly use a jpg or tga (though that would be quite a waist).

or you know it might be in the media VP.

I'm depressed. I maked this graphic cell.pcx 16x1 8 bit, 256 colors PCX and copy it to /maps/ directory, shut off -htl parametr and turn on -cell. Nothing happened... simply there was no-lighting effect ship models like in original FS2 with no any cell effect :(.

Unfortunately nothing :(. Sorry for truble Bobboau... It is like I post last: I got no-effect ships (like in original FS2), there isn't any highlights... just nothing on my ships.

Maybe I used bad build (05/12) or cell mode is not active on D3D 8 mode?!

Victory!! Finally its on :D. My cellmap.pcx was NOT on 256 colors. I don't know how this is happen. It's ok now, look:

Cell-shading is a beginning to the FreeSpace Cartoon :)... so is there any really simple FS2 textures for ships? For this cell-shading? Like your hecate (http://freespace.volitionwatch.com/blackwater/cell03.jpg)? If there isn't maybe I do some simples that they will be like cartoons. It's fun :rolleyes: ;) I'm just curious.

EDIT: Another n00b problem: How to enable 3d Shockwaves and skyboxes in 05/12? ;)

for 3d shockwaves all you need is the shockwave model, look around for shockwave.pof.

an all the cell textures I made were put up somewere, don't remember were though, but you are in luck as the search tool wwas recently fixed
