Title: mars probe does _not_ die in a firey plume of destruction

I thought of makeing a bad put on the name 'spirit' and the fact that I half expected it to explode on impact,
but I guess I'll have to settle for gloating over doing better than Beagle;

Oh well. This one ought to be more entertaining than Beagle any way...

[EDIT] Golf cart sized, eh? That's a pretty big payload. I never realised that little Sojourner thingy was a prototype for these two bad boys...

you know, I don't see why they couldn't, just have all data frome the probe avalable as soon as it's receved

...because they wanted to keep the good ones for themselves?

Or maybe it just takes time to find the nice ones and then more time for the media to put it up in the newspapers and Internet and the news on TV.

is it just me or has NASA's art department gotten a LOT better over the last year or two (in regards to there CG animations)

Yeah. I've been keeping an eye out on that :) It's very interesting. But it's taking a long time where as on Scrapheap Challenge they'd do it in 30 hours bodging time :D
