Has anyone put a docking point on the Demon desstroyer? cos am making a mission where a argo transport is supposed to dock with one but the model dosen't have one on it? which makes this mission a wee bit tricky to make.
-
One option would be to make it an Elysium instead of an Argo, and have it enter the fighterbay for a departure point. It may not be what you hoped for, but it could get the job done.

I can rig a dock point for you if you really need it, but don't expect it overnight
-
cheers diamondgeezer if you could it would be a great help
:D :D
-
Is there anywhere in particular on the model you'd like it placed?
-
a quick PCS edit wouldn't take that long would it ?
EDIT: Actually, even with Bob's tutorial it's a bloody nightmare

not really that fused where, suppose on the top of the neck part of the ship
-
Righto, I shall get on it when I get the chance
-
Cheers bud

Here we go - Demon dockage for all! Hurrah!

Cool. Not to put any further strain on your goodwill, but how hard would it be for you to add a dockpoing to say, the upper neck segment of the Ravana? It could be useful to me in a campaign I may get around to some time, if/after I finish my other one.

Cheers pal, now i can finally get that mission finished!! Woohoo
-
I've been trying to add a dock point to a Ravana myself. I've done the point, but how do I properly edit the path ? Is there a way to see it in modelview or somethin' ?
-
Not in modelview, but the new version of PCS isn't bad. I also have found FRED to be very useful for path editing.
-
I'm using PCS 1_3_4. Is there a laterbuild ?
I was thinking FRED myself, but it felt a little "clumsey".
-
No, that's the one. It shows paths in the render window.
-
I tried the render window. It just shows the model, but I'm always gettin' PCS NVOPENGL.DLL errors so it may be that.
Looking at V models and what DG did with the Demon, I was able to botch a path together okay though. Cheers.
-
As far as I can tell, PCS' render window displays paths in black. Against a black background. Which is, you know, nice
-
It displays paths in blue for me. You may need to up your brightness settings DG.
-
And be able to see whats eating me in Resident Evil? Never!
-
In [V] models, it displays blue paths. In anything I put through it, they're black. What fun.
-
I've got a Ravana Trivial Psychic. The dock point is on the upper part of the main body mind.
You can have it unless DG still wants to do it.
-
Are the paths completed for it? I'm still interested in having it, even if I never get around to the campaign. I'm sure there are others here and there that wouldn't mind having such an altered ship in their collection. If its complete, by all means. And thank you.

Hurrah! My first contribution to the community! (http://uploadit.org/magatsu1/capital2s-01.POF)
seeing what DG didwith the Demon was abig help. V models use ridicilously messy co-ords. I mean, 56.898954 ? WTF ?
Just thought his efforts should be mentioned.
Let me know if it needs any improvement. I only tested it on a "play dead" Ravana, not in a complete mission.
-
The trick is to match the IFFs of docking ships if they're both mobile. Otherwise they just circle each other and very little is acomplished...
As for V's co-ords, I can only assume they had some kind of grab-and-drag interface for their POF editor...
-
V's co-ords were (presumably) either autogenerated by the compiler or based on data added in the Max scene. I suspect the latter, as it would seem to make more sense IMO.
Not sure on the turret paths, tho.
