-
dont see any fish in there......nice tank tho :)
-
Yup. That's a fishtank all right.
-
right now it's very lightly stocked - 4 small angelfish and 4 corydora
it will soon have 4 rams too -- we're PROFESSIONALS so we actually properly stock our tanks - when these fish grow up that will be slighty over fully stocked and in fact we're very likely to sell back some fish to keep it within stocking limits.
if someone tells you "fish grow to their aquarium" slap them senseless - this is in effect true but that is because when they start to outgrow their tank they put out waste products faster than the filtration can keep up and they are poisoned by their own wastes and that stunts their growth
just like the whole pleco thing - most are known to grow to 3 FEET in length (and they're beauts at that size) except for some of the species that always stay smaller (don't know off the top of my head, would have to ask my better half)
-
Fish, fish, fish, fish, fish. Fish, fish, fish, fish, fish.
-
mmm, real plants, the sign of a cool aquarium, that or one of those little plastic ledge things

So set up brighter lighting - the camera will not need as long an exposure to get a decent picture, and the shutter speed will go down.

Fish are cool, if they don't die.
My fish tank population history:
Goldfish:
3
4
3
2
1
0
(died of old age)
(upgraded to tropical)
4
8
6 (2 fish found to have "escaped" the tank and lieing dead behind it. How?!)
9
13
17
13
(some babies born)
~18
(loads died, leaving only one species)
6
(remaining gradually die off over 2 years)

Currently just an adult female Red-Tailed Sword. Origionally one of the babies. Doesn't have a name, though I'm open to suggestions.
I'd buy more fishies but pets arent allowed in my student flat so it has to stay at home. :(
Edit: In reflection, what a boring post. :doubt:
-

[color=cc9900]Fun factoid:

I used to have a 15-gallon fish tank... the population was up to about 20 at one point. Then my white tetras started eating my neon tetras and it was all downhill from there.
Now I'm getting a puppy!
-
we just brought home 7 (yes SEVEN) 20gallon 'long' style aquariums
we need to get two more
-
coolness.
You should take the sides off of a few, caulk em together, and make one massive fishtank.
-
um no
that's not th point
they're grow out tanks
-
you just bought seven 20 gallon tanks and all the trimmings to get them working?
