I'm interested in any custom planets / nebulae / shockwave / explosion / glow effects you have produced for Freespace 2. Please would you be willing to consider donating some of these effects to the BSG mod? The mod still looks too much like Freespace for my liking and part of the problem is seeing the same old backgrounds and special effects. It would also be nice to see the mod run without using any of volition's files. Although I'm not sure how viable that is.

Well, I've done new shockwave and explosions for MindGames. I could make a new shockwave for you. Just tell me what you had in mind.:)

They have the best stuff in terms of effects I've seen so far.

Of course, since they use the ones form OTT :p
The shockwave has been done by Darkage, IPAndrews, all credits goes to him, I only made the explosions.

I can have a look into making or scrounging some BGs for you - did you want 256 colour standard PCXs, or 16 million colour TGAs for the SCP?

Icefire did some great background nebs for CoW. Few planets there too, albeit only Lunarcell ones.

Both thanks. I'm aiming to take advantages of the enhancements in the SCP as well as maintain compatability with the original .exe. You can file attatch any size to:

I have made two backgrounds for the SW conversion that aren't that bad:

the first one may need some work, thought, since you can see some edges and the background starfield is too dense.
If you think you can fix this, I can give you the photoshop files too (and I'd be very happy since I won't have to do this on my own:p)

karma. Sorry. I can't help you with 2D art. In that respect I am quite literally useless. They're beautiful backgrounds though and just the kind of thing I'm looking for. Realistic looking rather than cartoony looking. The TIE is also fairly good :).
Nico, I'll be sure to credit Darkage for the shockwave. The explosions are certainly distinctive from the Volition ones!
