Title: gmax setup
Post by: magatsu1 on January 10, 2004, 02:33:51 pm
*Jeez, feels like I'm constantly posting "help me" threads nowadays*

Okay, just been looking through some magazine coverdisks I've got knockin' about and discovered I've got gmax. Wohoo!
(not much chance of a download with dial up)

Got it setup and runnin' but the display windows are all fuzzy, like an out of tune tv. I'm guessing it's the display I'm using (Direct3D) but can't find any set up jobbies, either in the proggy or it's directies.

Help me!

assuming it's like 3dsmax, on the top bar: "customize", then "preferences", and "viewport" tab. There you can setup the drivers and stuff.

I assume you are aware that there is absolutely no way to transfer a model from gMAX to FS2, right? (Right? :nervous: )

Is there not some way to go gmax -> m3d -> 3ds / cob, though?

IIRC GMAX cannot save to _any_ other file format whatsoever unless it does so through game plugins.

Tempest plug-in. I did a forum search here before asking and I vaguely remembered anyway.

I think it involves converting to the Quake3 format then to whatever.

We seriously need to see if GS wouldn't mind sponsoring the costs for a GMAX 2 POF plugin. ;)
