A while ago I made a turreted bomber that few problems. After I fixed one problem another one would show up. After a while I got fed up with it and remade the model. I made all new turrets for it and set the axis for them right in Truespace but after conversion the turret bases for turrets 2 and 3 rotate around an unknown point. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Need more specifics, but are you making sure that the lights are centered on the object and I believe lightsize has a factor in it as well. What are you using to convert. I found that PCS can be quite usefull. As long as all the turret objects are subojects (glued with light, you can use PCS to make them turrets via name change, FP placement and a corresponding TBL assignment (mucho importante).
So far, I've made 3 of my Trek conversions bomber classes. All converted with PCS. I get less headaches with tedious Truespace gluing.
Please give more specifics in programs used and hierarchy structure in Truespace.

I am using the version of PCS in the “what is the latest versions of everything” thread to convert the model. The model is made with Truespace 3.2. It seems like somehow during the conversion process the axes for the turret base got moved somehow. The arms rotate just fine.
This is the model’s hierarchy

You could just go down the hierarchy until on the base is selected and try using move axis to centre. That might help reset the axis for the turret. Also check the position of your turret arms. They should stick straight up.

I have done that half a dozen time already. Fixed Turret 01 when it had the same problem but it did not fix the other two. The arms are sticking strait up and they rotate just fine. Could shrinking the turret model cause this problem? The turrets where rather large at fist so I shrunk them by half (I did not have the axes set at that time) to fit the ship better.

If you're centering the axis, then scaling doesn't matter. I would make sure that the group axis is being set correctly however, and not just the axis for the geometry. As stupid as it sounds, they are actually two different things.

I set the axes the same way I set them on my recent Frigate class ship that I made and the turrets on that work just fine. If anyone wants to take a look at the model I can e-mail it you.
