I've just rediscovered an awesome mission for TI (One by Exarch, who has, it would seem, since departed :()that I wasn't until recently able to play it. Now I've found out why it was abandoned - he'd almost hit the sexp node limitIs there any chance this could be bumped for 3.6? I realize you're in a code freeze and all, but I'm assuming (ie. hoping) it's simply a matter of adding a zero somewhere. If not, I'll give optimizing the events tree a go, but I'm really not holding out any hope - this is a real FREDding paragon, it's both complex and extremely streamlined, so optimizing would be almost as difficult as giving it up.

If the censor doesn't catch it, it's not swearing. Prude.

I thought the limitts were increased in Fred_open?  Is it an engine or fred limit, dy'know?

I have no idea. All I know is, I tried to paste in a  [- when] and the sexps that branch off it, and I got a "too many sexp nodes" error, and it unceremoniously dumped me to the desktop.

[edit]Yuo know, thinking about it, you're very possibly right. ie The coders bumped the limits in FS2, but forgot to do the Same for FRED Open. If this is the case, then it should be an even easier fix... I hope

The censor was busy. ;)

Yes, it's simply a matter of bumping the limits.  A very simple task.  So simple, in fact, that I thought we'd done it already. Try the latest version of FRED.

And do you have any idea where Exarch wandered off to?  He owes us some TVWP missions as well. :sigh:

None. But wherever he is, Iwish he wasn't. there. But was, in fact, here. Or over at SG anyway. Whatever. I did PM him just an hour or so ago to congratulate him on a really awesome mission - I'd've emailed him, but I don't have his address. Anyway, I'm DLing the OpenGL FRED - that should be the latest version, yes?

Bah. Random errors abound. Anywhere else I might grab the latest non OpenGL FRED?

If you mean the latest version of everything thread, not as far as I can see. If you mean the 3.5.5 thread, that's the one I'm using. Err... I think anyway.

Well, i don't think FREd has really been updated.... i don't think it can support TGA / DDS, for example, and i'm not sure about HTL ships either.

FRED hasn't really been changed much between 3.5.5 and OGL.  But someone (I can't, not for a day or two at least) could probably whip you up a limit-bumped version in about ten minutes.

i'd do it in a second (thinking like 3000, up from 2200), but i can't compile FRED.

Well, just tested with OGL FRED, and there's definitel no increase. Please bump this for 3.6...
