Take a look at this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4619&item=3656891141
People are bidding on an empty folder. And they're actually willing to pay money for it.

[color=66ff00]Someone posted a thread about this before a few months back. It's still weird as hell.

he had to burn it to a cdr, because ebay doesn't allow electronic shipment.
well, at least on the last folder auctioned out
-
Woa sweet!
*bids $50
-
-
Last one of these I saw was going for $15.
-
now i'm gonna have to sell a virus on ebay.
-
Now if the folder had his credit card information then I would consider buying it. :D
-
I've heard of people doing this kind of thing just to increase their feedback. The high bidder is a zero feedback guy; it may well be one of the seller's alt-nicks, so no actual transaction takes place but he can give himself feedback. This is obviously not allowed but it can be difficult to track people doing it.
ebay does have its fair share of idiots though, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was genuine. I use ebay for all my lego purchases and every now and then I see two or three guys placing insanely high bids on items because they haven't bothered to see what identical items have sold for in the past. :p
-
This guy makes money, for selling bog all. Seems like a good deal 2 me, if your the seller.
-
But how does he get repeat business? What's to stop whoever buys it from making copies of it and passing them on to his friends? :D
-
I heard that somone got $10 for absolutely nothing one ebay. He specifically said that if you bid and won you wouldn't get anything. I worry about our species sometimes.
-
Look at the price now; it's something like $2000. Another zero feedback guy, too.
-
Yeah, this is just some guy trying to improve his rating (cf. his "Positive feedback: 100%"). Bah, pointless.
-
ten million now.

that wouldn't make sense. you pay like $2.00 for every auction, plus a few % of the final cost... so he's paying for feedback, which doesn't make sense at the price it's at.
one of us should make an alternate Ebay name, then bid it up to like $50,000.00 so he has to pay the 7% or whatever;7
-
What do you mean "can be"? :wtf:
