Right in the root directory or the C:\games\freespace2

edit if you mean FS1 then C:\games\freespace

Don`t put it in the data dir.

I think we already have all that stuff in our VP. ;) Check in the "What are the latest versions of EVERYTHING?" thread.

Yeah, I think the latest VP has most of that. It's all in the readme for 3.5.6c, downloadable in my sig. :D

If you want to start doing media VPs, that would be great. :) I've been holding off on doing another until 3.6 is either very close to release or released...but it can be somewhat tedious at times.

I've been making the VPs with Kazan's VP builder, RARing them into self-extracting max-compression files with WinRar, and uploading them to the FSSCP site on warpcore. You'd have to get Inqui's permission for the last thing.

I would suggest that the next mediaVP be in 2 parts.  One would contain all of the latest stuff in the 3.5.6c version, with the exception of the hi-res planets.  Then, there would be 2 VPs compiled with the .tga planets included, one in hi-res, the other in low-res.  That gives the option of someone not using the planets all-together, or using them in the desired resolution.  Now you might also want to include the WIP weapon effects that Lighty is working on, but it would require a new weapons table file, and possibly ships table file if he creates new weapons for the Vasudans or Shivans.

Later!

It does already need a ships.tbl since I include ballistic primaries.

What about the VPbuilder tool that, IIRC, was included in the source code?  'twould probably be much faster - I think it was an automatic command line based tool.

I have everything but that last part I'll PM him, this does mean I got your permission to make them right? Don't want to misunderstand.:D
EDIT: his PM's full.
