File Planet just takes too long to download everything. I want the full port experience but I don't want to be inconvenienced by over 15 File Planet queue lines and downloads.
-
Fileplanet it's no that bad actually it's kinda cool
-
Well, having one full version for broadband owners and several small ones for dial-up users should solve the problem...
-
How bout it Galemp? Make one massive file that has all the goodies and core files in one package.

I repeat what I said in the Port forum:

I've never had trouble downloading anything. Maybe if you're on dial-up it would be different, but I can always start the download immediately.
And if you look on the Port website, you can download the full voice pack and the full command briefing pack, as opposed to smaller chunks of either.
It's done this way to make updating easier for everyone involved. To just play the Port, you only need to download one file. To get the full experience, you need only download two additional files (voice and CBANIs). And these are provided in both single and multi-part download format.
The other downloads are extra. The hi-res interface stuff isn't needed if you run in low-res, the hi-res ship textures are merely icing on the cake, and the music VP isn't even officially supported yet.

What if someone wants all the extra goodies? Would you want to wait to download 15 different files or just download 1 big file with all the goodies?
-
The extra goodies consist of five separate files, not 15. Is it really that much trouble to download five files?
