I'm going to see the Chilli Peppers in Hyde Park in June
Let the envy commence
-
Envy envy envy!
-
*wishes met will set a tour date in cleveland soon*
-
Saw a Chilli's tribute band, can't say I'm a big fan but I had a damn good time nonetheless. Lose some of the atmosphere at non-festival big gigs though a lot of the time.

Die.
-
I have no envy - I saw Radiohead at Newcastles Telewest Arena. Also, I'm not a hardcore Chilli Peppers fan ;)
Now, if you were seeing Queens Of The Stone Age I'd be interested - they're the only other band I really want to see at the moment.
-
You're both deserving of jealous slaps.
Meh, I go to see MeatLoaf on friday.
-
I wasn;t willing to pay >$100 bucks for mosh tickets when they were in Perth, so no RHCPs for me. I'm going to see Metallica on Sunday though.
-
Metallica at Download, Wildhearts in April. Saw Maiden before Christmas. :D
-
I've seen Metallica, don't care much for the Chilli Peppers. Last concert I went to, though, was... *thinks* Juanes, but you guys won't have any clue who he is (unless you like spanish rock). In terms of well known, I think I saw depeche mode last.
-
Black Wolf: Post the setlist and any pictures. I've heard the recent concerts have been top-notch.
Is this for the big-day out or just a normal non-festival show?
-
BDO. They aren't doing any standard concerts in Perth, which is kinda poor, but I'll get to see them, so I'm happy :). I'll get you the setlist, but I wont be taking my camera, so no pics unfortunately (nowhere to keep it really, and I'd rather not have it hanging from my wrist).
-
i wouldn't want mine smashed up either :blah:, but the last time they came to cleveland was in 2000 so i may take mine in case their next visit came in '08
-
Most of my friends are going to see RHCP when they play Edinburgh in June, but there's no chance in hel of me paying 40 Pounds* to see a band who to be honest aren't that interesting from the back of a crowd of 30000 people.
Personally i've spent my 40 on tickets to see The Rapture, The Von Bondies, Franz Ferdinand, Funeral For A Friend, Hundred Reasons, Biffy Clyro, and The Libertines - compaired to one band?
I'm also going to see BRMC, Less than Jake, and The Cooper Temple Clause, though i couldn't see them aswell for under 40 quid. :D
*foolish computer, doesn't recognise the pound sign! :wtf:

:D
beatspete, I know you're in Scotland - but it sounds like we have something in common - I've got a ticket for BRMC and TCTC playing in Brighton this febuary (as well as seeing A Perfect Circle some time in the next month..cant remember when).
I just wish RATM were together, I'd actually travel abroad to see them play.
-
Anyone ever heard Joss Stone? Came to my school for a concert alongside school bands, thanks to a local relative.
I didn't go. Awful music.

I'm seeing HIM on friday, CKY in march and NOFX in May :D.

Three times I've seen them. Three GLORIOUS, AMAZING, FANTASTIC times. The best live band on the planet. Just for the music, such accomplished musicians, such great songs. I love them.
However, as far as I know, they won't be touring for a long time if ever, Josh Homme has put QOTSA on hold for an indefinite period after the fourth album is released, though they may tour off that.

*Returns, battered, bruised, sunburnt, hoarse and elated from BDO*
It was a damned great day. Therew was no way to see everyone playing, but I got a decent selection. Blood Duster and Gerling to start things off, followed up by 1200 Techniques, The Butterfly Effect (The Mosh for these guys was awesome), Jet, Muse, the Hoodoo Gurus and finally Metallica. The set was the standard BDO one, but pretty damned fine all the same - they skipped over some Songs I would have liked from Load and Reload, but there was a lot of good, early stuff in there -
Blackened (Perfect to open with, the crowd went crazy)
Creeping Death
Harvester of Sorrow
Sanitarium (I'd been waiting for this one - brilliant)
For Whom The Bell Tolls (For a relatively small concert this went off. It seemed every audience member knew every word and was screaming it at the top of their lungs)
Frantic
Sad But True
Dirty Window
Seek and Destroy
Fade To Black
Battery
St Anger
Nothing Else Matters
Master of Puppets (People'd been chanting "Master! Master!" Between songs throughout the first set, so this was a very welcome addition)
One (By this time my voice was pretty screwed (I'd been yelling at most of the other bands too) but still belted out every word - you couldn't avoid it - the atmosphere was incredible, and the pyros helped a lot)
Enter Sandman (I almost wish this'd been earlier - it was still loud from the audience but everyone was buggered, and not getting into it the way they generally would - still, excellent closing)
All in all, a very good show, and a very good BDO.
-
did they play a solo for Dirty window? Kirk has usually been playing one. I found one somewhere but you really can't hear it.
-
I missed out on the Chilli Peppers Manchester gig. :sigh:
then I missed out on Funeral for a Friend..:(
then Oceansize :shaking:
not a good week.......
