Title: Force Feedback Woes
Post by: FoxHound on January 28, 2004, 08:44:15 pm
Allright, i've got a wonderfull little joystick here, a Microsoft Force Feedback Pro (the original, not the second), and i'm having a small issue. I'm running windows 2000 with sp4, and every once in a while, Freespace 2 will refuse to do force feedback effects at all, and i'll have to go re-installing the entire game to even get the slightest hope of getting effects back. Sometimes reinstalling works, sometimes it doesn't. It's working in combat flight simulator and flight simulator 98 100% of the time. I'm using the newest version of the SCP (12-05-03) and i'm turning the force feedback on from the official [V] launcher. Ideas? Its kinda annoying to have to go through hoops and hoops to get my stick vibrating.

Play it for a bit using just the retail version so that we can tell if this is being caused by FS2_open.

Seems like a very strange problem. Also check to see what your registry settings are before and after the joystick stops working. It could possibly be that the launcher in deselecting your joystick's FF.
