*bows down and worships Omniscaper*

I'm in the process of getting Rick Knox's blessing to continue this conversion and eventual release. For now just pictures of his converted ship.

FINLYYYYY

WEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i just can't wait to fly him:D :D :D

Are those Tri-Cobalt torps in the second pic? ;7
-
Yay, that's my favorite ST ship ever.

Very cool. Hey, check this out for anti-fighter phaser examples:
Zap (http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/series/TNG/episode/68534.html)
Take a look at the preview video.
-
why does everyone like this ship so much? I mean it looks very nice and all, but what did it do in ST to make it so popular? So far, the Enterprise-E is my favorite ship :blah:
-
yeah, were did this come from, I don't remember it
-
There are faces in the Bussard ramscoops! lol

IIRC, a single scene from the beginning of First Contact.
-
that's it...
this is ST's Boba Fett isn't it
-
very nice *gets nostalgic for Armada days with fleets of Steamrunners as artillery ;)

Yeah, that would basically describe it. The initial specifications were made up by fans or an "expert", then it made it into a few games.

... I like First Contact :blah:...
-
yes, we all do, the point is it was just made as cannon fodder for the borg and has become a favorite of many trek folk
-
I remember hearing once that a good deal of the ships that they smashed up at the beginning of First Contact were old rejected designs from TNG and TOS.....
-
/*wishes he had FC available to him right now*/
-
Steamrunner was originally in FC, then in Armada, then in Armada II, and then Dominion Wars, and probably in BC.
-
It actually didn't make it into Bridge Commander retail, though I don't know why. There were a lot of complaints about it being missing though.
-
It was made by their modding community, if you have BC, go get it
-
Its ready for battle.

my fav ships are Dauntless and Prometheus :)
-
I still like the Sovereign (especially the Nemesis variant), the Galaxy, and the Soyuz, myself.
-
nahh.... milennium falcon alll deh way
:nervous:
-
:D now we're talkin'
-
The MF is just a glorified Cargo Ship, if we are talking SW, you HAVE to go SSD all the way! ;)
As for the Steam Runner class, they are best used only against fixed targets as LONG DISTANCE ARTILLERY... Whenever I played Armada II you had to have a FLEET of them when you were ready to storm the enemy sectors. you had two fleets actually. the first teh steam runners would creep throughthe map and manuallymake them STOP as a target gets in extreame range. Teh main fleet of attack ships were ordered to protect the SR's while they elimenated the targets. Eventually you reach the main enemy base and send in the attack fleet while letting the SR's hangback and engage targets of opportunity with those cool tri-colbolts...
Unfortunately it will be hard to make somethinglike this happen onthe fly in a FS2 mission without extensive fredding... The Steam Runner is NOT a front line type ship, it is best used as a Support Ship.
Plus the design is not half bad, but Soulwolf (Ent-F) is my all time Fav.. At least until they get an official/unofficial Ent-G chosen and it looks decent. The mainthing about Soulwolf is it make it look like a predator. Something the Federation NEEDS to project finally.

Nova Class!.. it's like a mini Sovereign..
there was no 'nemesis variant' of the Sovereign, that was the enterprise E.. other than crew, etc.. it's prolly no different than other sovereigns
-
Actually there were supposidely some slight variants between the Sovereign from ST:FC & Insurrection, and the design seen in ST:Nemesis. It's been a while since I've seen the later, but I remember seeing an interview with the designer from Nemesis and he confirmed that changes had taken place.
Later!

okay... give us a photo then..

I did a Galaxy-X for Armada 2 (and the Romulan Nierrh).... kicked the Borgs ass with it..
It's still available for download at www.armadafleetcommad.com
Here's the direct link for those who want it:

If I recall, the SteamRunner was great in Armada for hiding on the other side of Nebula clouds and throwing Tri-Cobalt torpedos into bases and mining stations etc, they were absolutely awesome for long range work, I used to use Sovereigns or Galaxies simply as escorts for the Steamrunners :)
-
This one is not loaded with THAT mant tricobalts like Armada had it. It does have 4 Tricobalts each carring TBL entries of:
$Damage: 20000
$Blast Force: 6000.0
$Inner Radius: 600.0
$Outer Radius: 600.0
Dunno if thats over doing it, but it make up for it's low compliment.

Remeber the Caretaker's huge space station? IF I remember correctly Voyager had only 4 Tri-Colbolts asssigned to it and they used 2 or 3 of them to blow the station so the Kazon wouldn't claim it. remember teh sheer size of it? I think a Tri-colbolt will blow way any normal sized starship, shields or no... Make teh damage 30,000 or even 50,000...
Cool idea for a screenshot, have voyager blow away the Arcadia station with a few Tri-C's :drevil:
"Unless they give me One MILLION bars of gold pressed LATINUM!" , "What?"
"Fine, make it One Hundred Billion bars then smart asses."

I included a mission with the Steamrunner model which has it battling a single Sovereign. During all my tests ,It was able to fire only one Tricobalt before they played chase the tail AI maneuvers, and that torpedo took out its front shield entirely along with half of its hull strength. I think thats conservative enough to make it work. I'm pretty sure one more torpedo would have taken it out, which seems feasable considering the Sovereign's uberness. Most of my tests involved me getting killed due to detonation proximity with that friendly torpedo. I'd say those torpedoes made it an even fight.
In regards to the Caretaker array, remember that it did sustain a colliding Kazon warship. Dispite it's size, its doubtfull that the tricobalts did it all.

Omniscaper: Try AI Stand still.......i tried it a while back on a group of fenrises on a speeding Orion...surprisingly, they chased it a bit...'smartly' I should say.
Try keeping one on normal, and the other on standstill...maybe that will work......
