Title: scanner problems

ok, the full error log is simple:

it won't work.


HP5100C, drivers installed, connected on LTP1. the drivers say it isn't connected, and linux can't find it either.

it worked before my reinstall, about 6 months ago. i had it plugged out a few times, but i am pretty sure it is connected properly. please list anything i have to check when using a scanner.

Parallel cable - could've been damaged over the months, since they can be sissy about getting twisted and such.
