I've not usually had much interest in the consoles and their ninja antics etc... but, well watch this:

I misread that as Janet Reno the first time. Now I can only think about how much cooler that would be
-
WOW! :shaking::nervous::shaking:
-
I wanna see in game graphics, though, not a cut scene.
-
Who cares, the cutscenes purdey :p
-
Yeah, the cutscene was sweet. But hopefully the graphics are as good as the cutscene... they're starting to get that way, anyway.
-
Wow. Um. Dude. WOW.
Nice to see that this is one series that keeps getting better.
-
Hopefully it lasts longer than the 1st two.
-
holy **** man that was cool.
-
[color=66ff00]I know i'm about to make some people at square spit nails when I say this but it was cooler than final flight of the osiris.
Now if only jedi as depicted by lucas were that cool... *dreams the impossible dream*

Hard call there, Maeg. A very hard call.
-
Looks astonishing, but I always tend to get the impression that the gameplay can;t live up to it.... although I've barely heard, let alone played, this series, so I have sod all idea what is suppossed to be going on - or was this the 'Resident Evil in Medieval Japan" one?
-
Onimusha is basically a game of running around and slashing the bejesus out of anything that moves, and then sucking in its soul when it gets released. Think of something like Soul Reaver, but with a japanese theme and you've got the basics of the game mechanics.
-
Sounds somewhat...flat compared to the trailer. But I guess that's always the way of these things, innit...........
-
Well, Aldo, you have to keep in mind that there's a story that puts all the fighting in context. Freespace is just an arcade shooter--and not a very good one--until you add in a story.
-
Think a samurai and demon version of resident evil and you've pretty much got the Onimusha games down. Not to say that that is necessarily a bad thing.
-
I don't see the RE connection. Its really not a survival horror kind of game. Your ammo is unlimited, and there's no horror aspect. The baddies are demons, but if that's your criteria, Devil May Cry is a survival horror game.
-
It plays like the RE games, the mechanics are the same (pre rendered background, or 3d with a fixed camera) with regards to player control. Not sure if it applies to this one, I only played Genma Onimusha.
-
woohoo
-
Whoa. Nice. Was worth the two hour download. :p

What I liked was the sword play in the games. But games never live up to their cutscenes. This guy was doing spinning kicks in the movie, is he going to be able to do that in the 3rd one? I never played the 2nd one, but I don't remember him able to run across walls...
-
Sweetness. Maybe I'll get this.

Well, you can bet he probably can now. You find that hability in nearly every games of that genre, now ( shinobi, ninja gaiden, prince of persia, etc, etc ).
Is Jean Reno famous in the States, England, etc? The few foreign films he's made were not exactly state of the art, so I wonder. I know he's very famous in Japan ( hence his apparation in this game, I 'spose ), but that's it.
-
You could run across walls in JK2: Jedi Outcast. ;)
Jean Reno? Well, he's not really famous in Australia... but he does have a very familiar face. :D

He's reasonably famous in the UK, I think. Enough so that people would know who he is, albeit probably not so much that he;d get mobbed in the streets.

His best movie was "The Professoinal."

Thanks, I was wondering.

What was the difference between Leon and the Professional? They say that Leon was different, but I don't know how.
-
'The Professional' was the US renaming, I think it may have also have been cut differently, as the IMDB mentions a different, uncut verison when it gives the ratings.
I guess it was renamed because they reckoned Us audiences wouldn't be interested in a film with a foreign name - which speaks volumes about how lowly they regard their audience.
-
From what I remember reading once, Leon was more grotesque and violent that it wasn't allowed for US audiences. Then someone told me that there was also a scene between Leon and Natalie portman that didn't get into the Professional b/c of the nautiness of the scene. I have no idea. I can't seem to find a rentable "Leon" so I may go and buy it. I loved the Professional.
