There is a chance that there will be a pilot exchange between EA and Terrans in ch 1 or 2?
What is the end of EA war in new ch 1 , alliance against shivans?

There was no plans for a pilot exchange like the one in FS2, but there was plans for you to serve on either the Nemesis or Icanus. Don't know what we'll do for the new campaign yet.

Sol A History isn't officially what happens in our storyline, though there are some similarities...

When R1 is re-released, I'll redo SAH and rename it Sol: Alternate History, since evidently the indefinite article is perhaps a little too subtle. :)

Think there's only 4 EA ships to redo now...

And what is the time line?

Whatever involves huge ships with huge beam cannons and huge amounts of carnage.

Make em serve on the Nemesis as you didnt serve on the largest ship in the GTVA in FS2.

You may serve on the Nemesis, but you may serve on the Solaris instead if we choose a large ship.

Which made me wonder...

If Alpha 1 served from aboard Aquitane, I suppose most of good guys fighting along him are also from Aquitane, as shuffling different Fleets wouldn't be a good idea.

Then again, Colosseus had a huge fighter/bomber capacity, what, 150 wings or something?
And why don't we see those guys, and where were they as it [Colossus] fell?

The Colossus hangar bays were damaged IIRC, btw it's the storyline...
How things could be gone as seen with 100+ extra fighter wings around?

Yeah, such a thing would be technically infeasible (at least in the original FS2 engine) and you'd certainly lose quality by having so many ships. Your actions would matter a lot less if the GTVA had 100 wings of fighters on the scene. :p

Inferno destroyers have a much smaller carrying capacity (typically 1-6 wings). Instead most fighters are deployed from dedicated carriers, with those attached to destroyers functioning only as escorts or support in combat.

So how many wings did you say the Independence could have?

Can't remember if this is the final one, but here's the Warlock tech description:

Quote
At the centre of all GTVA fleets is the supercarrier. The formidable Warlock class can carry up to 200 wings of fighters and bombers, although most are usually moved to the smaller Lenaeus class for deployment in combat zones. The Warlock's extensive command and control facilities provide the home base for Allied Command's operations centres throughout a fleet's territory, making this vessel its most critical and well-defended asset. Since 2394 all Terran fleets have had their headquarters on board their Warlocks instead of static installations.

Sorry if this seems like an old thread, but is Inferno going to release an official history of what happened in Sol while the GTVA was disconnected?  Like, what's the government like on Earth and does the EA have power over the planet or is just a military extension of power?

Cuz just retaking the Sol system wouldn't necessarily mean a welcome home to the GTVA if it's all over the planet.

Which brings me to another question.  It's been decades since the GTVA was part of Sol, things definitely have changed.  Who's to say the GTVA has a right to come back and bully people around back to the way things were?  Or is the EA some sort of terrorist organization that is holding the Earth hostage?  Just playing devils advocate here...

A Star Destroyer holds 144 fighters and a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier holds about 80. The Warlock's 200 wings equate to 800-1200 fighters. There is NO comparison.

We may do expansion campaigns after the main campaign is complete. Depends if the team holds together after the last chapter.

If not I'll sort something out when the time comes.

An EA History one is most likely if we do any.

Because there is low traffic on this forum I propose a relase of screenshots and information about your top secret new EA destroyer and bomber.

Got no screenshots to show right now. We need missions to take screenshots from.

The only top secret ship is our newest Shivan asset. I just don't want to show the newer EA stuff yet.

1) Is EA Destroyer/carrier = third secret EA destroyer
or not?
2)
http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,22434.0.html
that third ship maded by StratComm looks like to be a perfect light carrier.
