You've possibly heard of it anyways....
http://www.kumawar.com/
Thoughts?
I particularly like the latter bullet point;
E xperience the toughest fighting of the war. Be the 10th Mountain Division hunting Al Qaeda in Afghanistan or the 101st Airborne defeating the Hussein brothers in Iraq.
Um....surely in the later example, it was a case of about 100 US troops surrounding 2 men trapped in a building?(!)
Thoughts? I think it's bizarre, and it reeks of controversy = sales type design.
-
See, the quote at the top really says everything there is to say about them. Semi[olitical cash-in ****holes. Same sort were out hawking memorabilia at the World Trade Towers blast pit a week after all that mess happened.
-
And their graphics engine sucks ass. Thats just unexcusable.
They're morons. 'Nuff said.
-
Thats just stupid... I checked out the trailer. And the news presenters look even more stupid. Meh... These kinds of games die out fast. thank god....

3 Men and 14 year old boy if IIRC. That will be a really tough level I'm sure
Basically it's just a crappy attempt to cash in. IF they were doing it just so people could vent their fury at Al Qaeda it should be done as a free mod for Half Life or UT etc.
-
The 14 year old boy is a giant mutated al Qaeda cyborg with gatling guns for arms. Other than that it's a perfectly accurate simulation.
-
Well it's not like the game would actually be any good. I guess it's the thought that counts in this case, or doesn't, for that matter.
-
well im sure it's going to take up less disk space than UT2004 will
-
Looks great
Ermm...please tell me it'll die fast.
-
Who cares? I mean everyone doesnt seem to shaken by what happens in real life, who gives a **** about a computer game?
-
How about a game where you a lone Iraqi soldier with only a stick and an RPG to defend yourself against 3000 armed-to-the-teeth American soldiers.
Ah, but that wouldn't be politically correct, whereas this is :wtf:
Flipside :D
-
Oh well, the closest thing you'll ever get is playing the GLA at C&C Generals i guess...
-
What Flipside said. Is it just me, or is there an enormous bias in games, where its always the crazed Arab terrorists vs the valiant US soldiers.
Alright, I'll quit *****ing now...
-
....oh damn games are for fun darn someone uses them now for political crap where this world goes....

Could it have something to do with the crazed Arab terrorists wanting to return the world to the level of development at or around the 8th century? Who believe that the Koran is the only book you need ever read.
-
you know, no offence to anyone, but Liberator's (of all names) post, reminds me an awfull lot of some amish family's i've read about.
-
Alas, it is that kind of stereotyping that led to the creation of this game in the first place.
It's so much easier to think of an Iraqi soldier as a Koran crazed physcopath than have to deal with the fact he may an ordinary guy with a wife and kid who are worried about him, who worries about the weather etc, and is placing his life on the line to defend his friends and loved ones, just like the American soldiers. But then that humanizes them, and we wouldn't want that would we?

The same kind of moron who believes that you only need the bible.
Same ****. Different country.
-
The main difference is most Christians don't believe that you should be killed for believing differently than them. The same cannot be said for "other" faiths.

How many people of different faiths (specifically Muslims) do you know? How many of them believe non-believers should be killed?

Most muslims don't believe that either. Only a very stupid subset of them.
In fact the muslims were civilised in this manner BEFORE the christians were. Even before the crusades happened muslims were quite happy to let pilgrims visit the holy land.
As for christians not wanting to kill those who believe differently to them go to an abortion clinic and claim to be a doctor who works there. Hand out cards with your address on. See how quickly you end up dead.
As for "other" faiths go find me a group of buddists or jains who are more bloodthirsty than your average christian fundimentalist.
-
It's amazing, sorry Lib, but you have just said it's ok to shoot Iraqis because they are religion mad Physcopaths. So surely saying that Christians don't act in a similar matter is an oxymoron?
-
Does this have to turn into another political/religion debate? We all know that the bad guys are bad, the good guys are good, and the hero gets the girl in the end. Give it a rest.
-
If it's not a political/religion debate, it's not HLP.
-
Play as the 10th mountain in Afgnstn.! Wow i cant wait hopefully it will be so realistic that I cant climb up steep slopes and have to call in the Royal Marines to bail me out!

Unless the girl is actually... a MAN! Cues eerie music...
-
Now, that's a whole different genre.
-
What genre would that be? Transvestitve tycoon perhaps? Where exactly do you buy your games ;);)
-
Ahhh! The dogma! The dogma! Keep it away! *runs around fratically*
-
I play games to get away from the dullness, stupidity, and unjust reality, not get thrust even deeper into it.
