Title: Some more Ideas...
Post by: Turnsky on February 15, 2004, 11:52:56 pm
okay, with subspace jumps, etc... how 'bout adding more methods of ships to jump in and out of the area.. for example, the Star-Trek warp-in/out  and the Homeworld Hyperspacing, well, you get my point..

Or various effects like the one in EV/O/N, or in StarOcean2...
I must admit that I think they'd be interesting, and we could all surely throw in out own ideas.  But I dunno if it's a central part of the code or not (I haven't exactly purused the code that much), but either way, I bet it'd be hard to implement.  Just because the SPC guys did what they've done so far doesn't mean they can do *anything* :P

What might be another idea is to make it so one can have custom effects.  How to insert that would be even more beyond me than hardwiring it into the code.

There's my kuprum dae.

well, they are just ideas, aren't they?.. i mean there's a lot of coders involved in the FSSCP, and it'd only take one of them being bored or feeling like experimenting to see if it works or not...

You mean, different kinds of warp effects?  That's extremely low on the priority list.

Not to mention that we're extremely backlogged on feature requests and we aren't even adding stuff to the code right now.

We're focusing on fixing bugs for the time being.

well, it's something for somebody to experiment with later, isn't it?.. ;)
