Title: Allowing hardware
Post by: diamondgeezer on February 16, 2004, 02:26:27 pm
Further to my thread in FS Modding, I'd like the see the restrictions of available hardware in campaigns removed. Why exactly do I have to specifiy in a SEXP when weapons and ships become available? Surely I can just specify what's available on a per-misison basis?

You can already do that, if you prefer... via Team Loadout.  The sexp is just to make it easier, to have the campaign manage available stuff for you.

Eh? As I understand it, stuff doesn't appear in the weapon/ship pool unless it's allowed in a previous misison using a SEXP. This overrules what I specify in the loadout editor. Do I have that wrong?

If you specify all the stuff at the beginning of the campaign file, then you won't need to use the sexp because they'll already all be allowed.

Er... actually, yes. you're right. As is plainly obvious, I don't know squat about the campaign editor :D
