Here's the deal. Just post a song you are listening to like this:
"Artist - Song Title"
This is a good way to tell people about cool songs and boost your post count! I'll begin!
Blur - song 2
-
How is this thread more "official" than any other crap thread?
Why would anybody need an excuse to spam?
Why can't I make these stupid poll threads die permanently just by wishing it hard enough?

Jars Of Clay is christian in word only. give them a major record contract, and watch how fast their "beliefs" and "convictions" take a back seat.
What am I listening to:
One-21: Runaway
deny my God and shut my mouth
curse my Lord and end my life
well how can i forget my King
the One who's given me everything
One-21: Pacified
laziness plagues our people
diseased we sit on our hands
hedonism crept in like a snake
but we failed to recognize it
i say it's a foothold he's got on us
or maybe one we've given to him
well its time to take it back
i said its time time time to take it back

Both! Both F***ing awesome. NOTB is a bit heavier, but Powerslave's got some huge stuff going on (not least a 13-minute closing track :D). You need 'em both. Oh, and you need the stuff below as well... :D
Not listening to anything right now - away from the hifi - but it'll be:
Judas Priest - Screaming for Vengeance
Iced Earth - The Glorious Burden/Something Wicked This Way Comes
Nightwish - Angels Fall First
Probot (OMFG get it get it get it GET IT!!!!!! NOW!!!)
Darkness rawk, Oi to the world great (best done by the Vandals, though), not fussed on Johnny Cash meself (though i respect the man's work). Also been listening to Bob Marley and the Wailers (best of), and a rather violent Stravinsky ballet...

Yeah, your protest is pretty common, and not totally invalid. But I've spoken with these guys in person, and I know the stories behind their music. As musicians, I respect them, and as Christians, I respect them. From there, I just enjoy the music. Simple as that.

mmm yes. Powerslave was pretty cool. not as heavy as i expected, but when the riffs for the songs are based off the A string you can only do so much. I keep comparing it to RTL for some odd reason. probably because Creeping and Powerslave are so similar (plus they both were released in '84)

yes, all of the above. they perfer to be called black metal, but any one would work. they have an actual pianist and nicholas barker at the drums. their latest cd, death cult armageddon, features the prague philharmonic orchistra. they do some songs in norsk. i really like the songs with the opratic breaks in them, such as progenies of the great apocalypes, the maelstrom mephisto, symposium, kings of the carnival creation and so on.

Yeah, if you've bought Primus's latest album, Animals should not try to act like people, it only has 5 new songs, but the accompanying dvd has all of their videos.
I personally was more disturbed by the Mr. Krinkle video. quite odd...
And Les is a bass machine, and while I must say, I think Victor Wooten is a better bass player, I like Les and his works better.

I know. Haven't heard it too many times yet so I can't tell what the lyrics are properly about but from what I can gather it's a rather angry song about being accused of selling out by someone that dresses in brand names, has "cool" tattoos, piercings and drinks coke. I do like the point that's being made.

Self-centered, pathetic, overwrought belchings of teenage angst being sold as some kind of philosophy is pathetic and sad. And the fact that Mr. Maynard-The-Mutant-Munchkin tries to play it off as something serious is even worse. Okay, so he can feign epileptic seizures on stage. Whoopie goddamned doo.
He most definately suffers from a neurological disorder. he actually believes his own bull****. He's a chick-flick with feet.
The success of their music is a testament to the idiocy of the human race.

Their phillosophies in some respects agree with my own and I respect them for trying something different and getting it fairly mainstream, I find myself actually quite liking them lately, though still a bit too repetitive in some respects, definitely mushroom music. I guess everyone has their own opinions, you don't have to listen to them.
It was actually a Tool fan that put me off Tool. He was such a complete prick about them and in general that I disliked them just to piss him off and it stayed with me.

J-M. Jarre - Magnetic Fields Part I.
Hmm.. from 1981. Guess i got the CD somewhere early 90s. Since then, sort of "grown out" of most of the Jarre stuff, but this one I just need to listen to at least couple of times a year, heh.
-
You can never go wrong with J-M. Jarre. I'm fond of Oxygene and Equinox myself.

Ya, sweet stuff all that.
One of my long time favorites is ZOOLOOK ...a person can not really be the same after listening to "Ethnicolor" for a while :)

Oww! thats hard man. Nothing bad in vinyl though, taken the player is good enough.
Hm.. this is one more good reason to have your collection as MP3's -- makes it easier to distribute/back up stuff on servers,cds,Hds,what/where-ever.

INCOMING!
I quite like the sisters but the last concert I went to was utter ****e.
They didn't play a single classic song. Instead they played stuff that isn't even mentioned on their official site. :wtf:
Nice to see that they do occasionally play their hits live.

I actually saw them twice on the 1998 tour, and once in 1991 in arizona. Great show live. I'm sorry to hear their most recent show was such a flop. Good ol' Andy needs to get off his ass and release us a new record already.

They're selling an OST? What for, the musics are directly readable from the folder :p ( gotta admit they're cool, tho, kindda reminiscent from Lord of the Rings, there's even one that sounds a bit like the one - if you can call it a music - from the FS1 intro )
