Title: HLP Unreal Tournament.

We've got the UT2k4 thread for that, but I figured it'd be better in a sticky thread. So admins, sticky this oui.

Starting Saturday at 18 PM GMT, we hope to set up a server for some HLP ut play of Unreal Tournament 2004 Demo. Join in, let's assault, onslaught, and generally frag eachother's butts.

If anyone can set up a dedicated server, post. I'll be able to host probably, but I'd rather play. :p

I'll look into this stuff anyway.

if anyone hosts it should be from the UK so any US people like myself don't get 400 ping and the people like Stu in Estonia won't get 400 ping to US servers

Post by: Stunaep on February 21, 2004, 09:47:12 am: So, apparently Kalfithunder has got ISP trouble for which reason, he cannot host. I myself can host just fine, but that would mean ping the size of mount everest for everyone overseas.

So, we´ll just highjack empty dedicated servers, unless someone has a better Idea.

I guess we'll be focusing on Onslaught, Assault and DM today, since these are popular choices (****, if I can understand why people don't like bombing run).

Post by: Nuke on February 29, 2004, 06:22:50 am: i just got the demo and it kicks a$$. i love the vehicles and the massive open maps. its fun when you ger to run people over and get extra points for stunt driving. multiplayer is kinda laggy though, even with a cable modem.

Anyhow, the running people over thing is great. I score most of my 30-40 kills in Onslaught with the Manta. I even got a Holy **** with that in multi - barged into the enemy base, when all enemy power nodes had been destroyed, and started running over the spawn points. Racked up some good points.

It's the same with my new camera - I've had it for less than a week, but I've already taken 4 CDs worth of photos. 5 megapixels per shot, really soaks up the HD space quickly!

There is a double-DVD version, though (1 DVD holds modding tutorials, etc). Not sure if it's US only, natch.

I've only got UT and 2k3, though the latter isn't installed, I actually find I still prefer UT :)

Edit : And since it's easy to convert FS2 ships into UT2k3 meshes, I really ought to get around to doing a Deathmatch arena in an Orions Hanger-bay one day ;)

I'd be willing to set up a non-dedicated invasion server (i.e on me broadband - 256k upstream, so probably can only support 2-3 other players), if anyone wants a regular game or whatnot. Albeit my Pc does have a habit of overheating :nervous:......

(NB: Uk-based)

You could try software mode ;7

Um...here's another thought - could arrange a tournament of World-Cuppy style 1vs1 deathmatches. Anyone with broadband should be able to host that.....
