It almost looks like a screencap from an ep of B5. Great work, is it for TBP?

You're going to put it for us to see when it's finished right?

I always love watching fan made animations.

Awesome, Daan. The motion blur really completes this picture, I can imagine a hundred stories behind the render. Love it. :)

I like the pic, although I think you could've done the nebula a bit better. Somehow, it doesn't sell to me. :blah:

You realy never seen/heard about the show?

It's the Omega Destroyer from Babylon 5.

Someone doesn't know about THE Omega Destroyer?

Couple of suggestions:

-Add some blue light from the jump-point

-The nebula could be a bit more interesting, but it looks good enough to me :)

-Change the camera angle back to the original. It's more dramatic

TBH, i didn't recognise the ship either, i just saw a hole like subsppace effect, and Darkage's name, and expected it to be B5.

Truly one of the most god-awful ugly ship designs in history.

Nice render, tho.

Man.. that second shot is... well.. to put it bluntly, the lighting sucks man... Its tooo bright.
I would expect some blue light from the vortex, and maybe some very dim green light from the nebula. Unless of course you have a sun on the other side of the thing. Even then, the light is a bit harsh. Try using shadow maps. I pretty much swear by these things now. Unless you're doing a scene that would call for really harsh lighting, like a laboratory or something, I would use shadow maps.
The lighting in the first one is pretty good though. Shadows are a bit sharp, but thats just my preference.

Yeah your right i was messing witht the light setup and kinda ****ed it up there. but it was more about the camera angle.

And i need to get back into it i havent done anything for a long time:D

The first pic reminds me of when Martial Law was declared and later on Sheridan and the Alliance took on the EA back to Earth. Can't wait to see the Animation . You should try using the new jump point though, its much nicer (the one in 'A Call to Arms'). I know its been made in some tutorial, can't remember where though. A visit to Nadab's (http://www.eon3d.com/index.htm) little corner or perhaps on the first ones forum (check google) might be something :D

that scene with the omega jumping and opening fire is a classic shot. just one of the coolest things in all of sci-fi

nice job. :)

i would make 1 or 2 suggestions tho...
- As thorn said but in a nicer way ;) : Yeh, to me lighting seems a little bit off... perhaps darken the scene up a bit and add some contrasting lighting effects.
- The background seems a bit bland somehow... I like the neb, but maybe make some more or do something with the background... needs some space dust or more contrast b/w stars...

but yeh, thats just me :) its still a better render than anything I could ever spit out lol.

Keep up the good work mate :D

-Grug
