Where are you (as in city)..you live in Scotland IIRC?
I think I saw an imported CD copy in a shop outside Central Station in Glasgow in early January.... imight be a better option than buying a DVD drive solely for one game.

Edinburgh. Thats mad you saw that imported copy!
Looks like I'll be needing a DVD drive for the future now anyway.
Thanks for the thought though.

Or you could just not get the game, thereby saving money and mental anguish.

Get it from ebay. I bought it from there, as new copies sell for about $20. You will have to pay more for shipping if the CD versions are only distributed in other countries but it will still be less than the $40 to $50 price at a retail outlet.

No worries. The aforementioned shop actually has most games on the shelves before the official release dates - although usually it's only on the Wednesday beforehand.
Oh, and;

Sounds about right. Why not play DX again? It was far better, judging by the DX2 demo....

Thanks for all the help but I think I'll just waste my money on the DVD player. I want to get into the game soon and it will probably be that publishers standard to only release on DVD in UK from now on. And others will follow.
A transition period would have been nice though.

I've been considering getting a DVD player / writer as an alternative to a bigger HD, myself. But it's odd that there's beeen so few DVD / CD join releases, and now games are suddenly switching to DVD only.
