Title: Gamma Adjustment
Post by: Deathstorm V2 on March 12, 2004, 04:28:28 am
I've been playing the cannon campaign though again, using some of the latest stuff, (TGAs, etc.) on the 05_03 build, and I've come across something unusual.

When I tried to adjust the brightness, the slider was inverted - i.e. instead of a setting of 1.10 being brighter than 1, it was darker.  I'm certain it never used to be this way.

One other thing - I've been checking framerates, and they're pretty stable at 60fps, until I look at the Colossus, in which case they hit 15 or 20.  Is this normal?  I'm using glowmaps, specmaps, and jpgtga.

that's normal. The slider has upgraded functionality. Whereas it didnt work with FS2_retail (it only changed text brightness 0.o), it sets general brightness now. Inverted, but working.

I really dont think I said that!

Im not sure which way round its meant to be, Im not sure it really matters that much, it would be nice if it was consistant with OGL but then again OGL doesnt have fully working gamma anyway.

The maths I took from somewhere else worked the other way around and I thought an inverted working system would be better than the fairly useless system that was already in place.

Well I was joking somewhat about what you said but the basic message was that you weren't turning it around so I didn't push it :D
