My MSI thingy is boned beyond belief.
It *****es at me no matter what I do. This means I can't install MAX6.
So I do the sensible thing and go search ms.com for a troubleshooting thing. I find one. It says "You've probably screwed it somehow, so download Windows Installer 2.0 from the Microsoft site and it should fix everything".
Okay, I think, I'll go to the site and search for the download.
I find the Windows Installer 2.0 download pages in mere seconds. But I can't download the packages. Because for some stupid ****ing reason, despite telling me about 50 times in the troubleshooter than I should download and install the XP version of Windows Installer 2.0, all I get on the download pages are "There is no download for XP because the Windows Installer 2.0 is included in XP".
Fan. ****ing. Tastic.
Any ideas, peeps?
Note: 'Napalm Redmond' is not a valid idea.

ummm........
uninstall/reinstall?
Or better yet - forget microsoft and find a better patch elsewhere?
*goes off to search and see if he cant get the installer himself*

Well, the re-registering thing seems to have worked.
*adds Singh to his "don't kill" list*

That's pretty high praise Singh. Last I heard there were only five or so on that list.

I absolutely hate the websites of large corporations. Sony's site, for example... good luck trying to find the driver that allows you to see your CyberShot camera's Memory Stick as a regular removeable drive in W2k.
-
@ Sandwich Why on earth doesn't the default usb removable disk driver kick in?
-
Maybe Gloriano can help you with that one, Sarnie
-
I'd give you a drumroll for that but.... ach I'm too tired.

Vyper: No idea, really.
