which table is responsable for control the computers ships accuray and how they engage enemies?

a combo of AI and ship, IIRC.
but upgrading the AI is partiallly source code work, and partially just bloody hard.

How can you combine the ai.tbl and the ships.tbl?

Yes, I know, just what modification in the ships.tbl may affect the Ai? Do you mean increasing shields, hitpoints and the like?

In editing the ai.tbl file, can you add your own entries and assign ships to use them without messing anything up?
