Could the SCP make some new things and correct most trobleshooting issues such as this error that occured in middle of a mission? (here is the errorlog entry)
latestrelease caused an Access Violation in module latestrelease.exe at 001b:004a5ee0.
Exception handler called in Freespace 2 Main Thread.
Error occurred at 3/3/2004 14:56:54.

Features that I suggest: Shielded or armourded bombs, homing lasers, switching between subspace and realspace in ONE mission, "cancel-supernova" FRED operator, and loadout options and player interface for turret.

Seriously though the dump alone won't help much. They'll need to know what you were doing when the crash occured, which build you were running and the specs for your machine.

check the newest builds forum. i have a feeling "latestrelease.exe" isn't the newest one. usually, a team member pumps a new build out every 5 days at the least

Yes. And bugs should be in Mantis. If this thread were bugs-only, I'd close it, but since there is some new feature discussion (cancel-supernova? :wtf:) I'll leave it open. Keep in mind that we won't be adding any new features for a while though.
Since your build is dated 11/11/2003, and there have been several new builds since then, I suggest downloading a new EXE.

First, read my signature. Second, click the link under my name, go to the SCP section, and see if you can find anything to help you. Third:
1) has been discusses, IIRC, it was said to require some ugly code changes, not sure though.
2) isn't this already possible somehow?
3) make a skybox consisting out of 2 objects, one with the "inner" subspace tex, one with the outer, make both texes ani's, 2 frames, one frame the subspace tex, one frame empty. calculate the frametime into something pretty for your mission, and make the models rotate to create the subspace effect. you'd make the normal space background normally. you could make some more frames for transitions. only one code change needed: animated transperency. if you can make the subspace thingy in one sphere like object, you don't need any coding.
4) dunno why you'd need one of these, really.
