Post by: Turnsky on March 18, 2004, 08:40:21 am
usually, i loathe posting anything of a "Furry" nature here, usually because of some immature pricks going OMFG IT"S A FURRY!!!!11 :doubt:

well, i say.. **** 'em, it's art, and i can post whatever the hell i want..

anywho..
clicky (http://users.bigpond.net.au/Turnsky/images/marysketch2.jpg)

it's "mary" from the foxfire chronicles.. altho you haven't seen her much, i decided to give her a little overhaul to make her seem more "female'..

and this, is "luke reid"

What's the big deal about him drawing wolf or fox people?

Jeez!  I searched online for "furrie" and I think I'll go wash my hands now.  Seems people take animal people very serious...

Perhaps he just liked fox or wolf people... heck the Anime world is full of cat girls... doesn't necessarily mean it has to be some kind of fetish porn.

good god, here we go again.

J3Vr6, if you do a web search for just about ANYTHING, you'll find someone who has turned it into some sort of extreme fetish--and you know what? that's not a bad thing as long as they aren't hurting anyone else or forcing you to join in. Christ, its just art.

yeah: a search for "chien" ( dog in french ) will turn out a rather shocking pic on the very first page of google image search :doubt:
And I like catgirls, they're cute. OMG I'm Teh w3ird!!!!11one

When I asked what the big deal was of him drawing foxes or whatever, I meant it in reference to the comment he made about "usually because of some immature pricks going OMFG IT"S A FURRY!!!!11" and Mikhael's "OMG IST A FURRY"  I was like, "um, who cares if it's an animal drawing, what's the big deal?  It's just a drawing."  Hell, I like the way Turnsky draws.

I'm not an idiot, I know anything can be turned into a fetish and I didn't say anything about fetishes in the first place (unless we're talking about greasing me up and playing raquet ball on my bare ass while yelling out LUCY! LUCY! LUCY!... wait, you didn't hear that).  I don't think I bashed anyone or anything so don't rape me.  I never said that it was bad.  Do you think I'm closed minded enough to not appreciate things? I don't think you know me well enough to guage that.

You read way too much into things.  All I said was that some people take animal people serious.  How was that wrong?  I went to wash my hands cuz I opened up one of the first sites I found and it was quite graphic; I was going for the comic relief of it's interpretation (do I need to explain that, too?).  But that no way implies that I bashed the person who drew it or conceived it, or that it was bad art.  It's art and I respect all forms of it.

Ok, now you made me pee myself.

LMAO! And keep all racquets away from A ;)

Good stuff Turnsky, hell, if furries are a problem, why do people play Starfox, or Sonic? ;)

Strawman argument, the two are unrelated.

Post by: Flipside on March 18, 2004, 02:37:11 pm
As in some are called 'Furries' and Sonic and Starfox are not called 'Furries'?

It's still exactly the same theory, personification of an animal. What people then choose to make those characters do is up to them, but we are all bought up on animals with human characteristics, Wind in the Willows, Winnie the Pooh etc etc, although there is a certain branch of it that contains more er... eccentric people, Furries, as far as I'm aware is just another branch of that whole thing, and Starfox certainly looks like the 'Furrie' art that I've seen.

this is mostly the contention, and the reason that so-called "Furry artists" (i prefer the term "anthro artist" myself) and the fact that some people have a downright disgusting subject matter..

http://vcl.ctrl-c.liu.se/vcl/  here you'll see the good, the bad, and the downright disgusting..

hint: stay FAR away from any work involving "doug winger" :ick:

ditto.. i could safely call those guys "weirdos"

hell, considering the position the foxfire crew is in, they'd be able to call fursuiters "freaks" with impunity:p :ha:

You know, I've known Doug since... oh... 1992.  You would never be able to link the man to the art. Its amazing. :D

Whilst I will agree there are some true freaks in the Furry community (or the Anthro community if you prefer), the vast majority or rather sane, well grounded sorts.

Side note about the fursuiters in the AC2001 pic: anyone, fursuit or not, who goes to a convention to celebrate their membership in a group, is a freak. That goes for gamers, furs, RPG players, whatever.

Oh, and a bit more of "furry" thing.

I don't like them, but they're ok - As long as they're not those who draw those things you find when you put "yiff" in Google image search.
Those guys are creepy. Or actually something more.

Highly NWS AND it will tear your soul apart.

Maybe cuz we lack creative thought? Or is that just me?

Anyway, GREAT work Turnsky. ;) We need Tiara back. This place creeps me out without females.

What's wrong with drawing stuff? I don't get it.

I'm not terribly fond of expressionist art, but I don't find expressionist artists creepy.

It just seems to me that finding someone creepy because you don't like stuff they draw is pretty stupid. There's a simple solution to the whole thing: just don't look at their art.

That could be it. ;) Or, I dunno, whenever I look at my old work, I get two feelings: one of nostalgia, and one of "man, I could do that so much better now" (as we do when we're in a constant state of learning). :)

[All links are propably NWS.]

Excuse me, but if you have seen something like this (http://jessk.net/prints-x.html), it will make have some effect. Drawing something normal, like an antropomorphic animal, is a-ok, but drawing these (http://www26.brinkster.com/brazz/sisco/artwork/bunny2.jpg)
is not quite normal. (Even though that might be a joke.) A guy drawing these IS creepy. Turnsky isn't. A guy drawing those gets kicks from anthropomorphic animals ****ing each other with oversized [human] penises. Turnsky likes drawing.

There is a minor difference.

Well... Its rare to find a girl interested in stuff like Freespace,  but if you can and she's not obnoxious (dont know Tiara at all but, icespeed looks like someone you only wish you could get to know in life (Setekh ;7), but it's still a 1/10000000000  chance you will, though:) (my opinion)

Ok, furry gay porn is bleh, I gotta admit. But I've seen so much worse that this looks nice in comparison.
