is there any tools like modelveiw that outputs to a transparent file of a model? (needs it to work simular to modelveiw, being able to work with VP files and the like)
-
how do you mean, transperent file?
MV has a wireframe setting, so if you use that, plus a normal view, make two layers, and make the normal view transperent, you'd get something like that, right?

i meant something like a transparent background around a ship, but nevermind, i found a work-around with modelview..

make the background green and use the magic wand tool?

Yup (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,22348.0.html) ;)
edit, if somebody makes some seriously high-res textures for the ships, and makes them into a special models/textures only VP file, PM me by all means :)
