This doesnt look like the misplacement issue. It's something completely different.

I get the same thing when using non-standard resolutions. The lead indicator is anywhere but where it actually should be. Any hopes for a fix ?

Eh?

Checked it's not FOV settings, and I was using std resoulution of 1024x768

Erm, that image you posted isn't at 1024x768 but 640x480...

(The screenshot of the game I mean, not the image itself.  The relative size and position of the HUD elements looks like 640x480, not 1024x768)

So if it really was 1024x768, did you install the hi-res art?

yes, I am Lightspeed (SSC-Lightspeed). Not that it was hard to figure out :p

Make sure you have 'allow non standard modes' turned off.

I didn't notice that but I think Chrono has his finger on the problem here. Check your freespace2 folder for a file called sparky_hi_fs2.vp.

If you don't have it that's the source of your problem. You have to do a full install to have a copy (and if you're using the Home of the Underdogs version or any other non retail version you'll probably find that they don't include this file).

You can solve the problem by playing in 640x480 until you do a full reinstall.

Kara, you are somewhat wrong, i am using a HOTU like version, and sparki_hi was about 3 megs last time i checked, but i amm not getting that error. i am getting issues with ShipSelect ani's and stuff, but nothing in the HUD.

I was under the impression that the HotU version didn't even include a dummy version of the Sparky_hi. Since incomplete installs of FS2 don't include sparky_hi I'm somewhat suprised that HotU has included it. Are you sure the file is complete? Are you sure that you got it with the HotU download (you sure you didn't get an incomplete version from say Fractux's server).  What resolution are you getting these errors in?

HOTU like :)

And i'm getting the 640 480 anims in the 1024*768 interface, making it all look a lot too small. And some of the null files are causing FSO errors at times.

I really wish someone could lead me to iso's or send me 3 CD's. I asked on Dutch guy on the forum to do so, send him 5 euro's for the CD's, he recieved it, and i never heard anything from him.

Can't you get a new copy off the Interplay site?

Anywho, is this in mantis Lighty?

@kasperl

Since your pm box is full....

We can't have a tester (especially one who finds and actually submits a ton of bugs) without this.

When I get back I'll send the file to you.  If that doesn't work, we can use IRC.  #[email protected]

Grab it from my fserver (trigger is !fs2o).

If that doesn't work then stay in the channel and I'll DCC it directly when I get back.

This is NOT in mantis. Someone really should report it I guess, but I think it can be tracked down to wrong data / a bug with non standard modes.

Med, is the tickbox "enable non standard resolutions" turned OFF? If not, turn it off, and use a standard FS2 resolution (640x480 or 1024x768 when you have the hi-res pack)

wha!
Who what Where?

What file?
And i am not really up to massive testing, i am physicly ill, and i need to work my way through about 5 weeks worth of school without teachers, so i don't have time. There  are more testers with a HOTU version, IIRC. If not, find a way to transfer a 250 meg file.

edit: i can't connect to that IRC. come into #nodewar @ irc.sorcey.net or MSN [email protected]
