Thanks, to Turnksy for his links in another thread. This is my first attempt at drawing a face. I think I did pretty good, but I want your opinions.:)
Tell me if you like it.:)
-
Small mouth. Shadowy nose... But it's good for a begining. Keep drawing faces, and you'll be as good as/better than Turnsky.
-
nice
"Much to learn, you have" ;)
and
"you have a long ways to go to beat me, grasshopper"
-
I think it's excellent. Depending on the direction you wanna take (caricature or sheer realism), this really is an excellent start. Keep drawing.:yes:
-
thanks everybody :)
I'll continue to drawing and I'm glad ya'll like it.
-
Very anime-ish. Not a bad thing, but a lot of anime is out there, you might want to try developing your own style :)
Anyway, try describing the shape with shadows, and not outright drawing them. ;)
But it's very good, especially considering you're just beginning. Better than I could have/ are able to do :D
-
The eyes look surprisingly good. Well maybe its cause I can't fraw eyes for crap :D:D But they look very "right"
The nose is the biggest problem I think. Try having it float, not attached to the brow. You don't have to draw the entire ridge of the nose, just hint at it. Or not even that maybe. The bottom part is where it counts.
Other than that, looks good.

i really need to get a webhost, i could teach you all a thing or two about drawing - not to brag or anything. :P
-
Here's one for ya (http://www.fattonys.com) :D

What do you think:D
I think I did better on my first one
EDIT: The second one at the bottom
-
first one there looks kinda worried..
-
It's funny the way I make the eyes always look worried, sad or scared. No matter how I make them, It always comes out like that.

well, once you have the upper lid line with the ends "higher" than the line itself ( you know, like an flat U ), you'll get that look. Worried or tired, depending on the rest.

There should be an artistic battle royale amongst all the dedicated drawing artists on HLP, methinks :)
-
Agreed. The render battle stories of the past were some jolly good fun. :D
I like your new ones, jdjtcagle. That first guy looks like he just got fired, though. :nervous:
-
yes, thanks but I think it looks like I'm getting worse everytime I draw something new.:D
