Hi all,

I just reinstalled my FS2 after so many years and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction on getting on servers. I try to in the game but the PXO web site does not work.

Any help would be appreicated.

What kind of servers?

Also, old style FS2 isn't all the popular, i suggest clicking the link under my name, and going to the Source Code Project part. Read the installing guide, and install this wonder.

I supsect he means PXO.

Download FS2_open instead. To make it easier click on the installing FS2_open link under my post . Instead (or in addition to) downloading the build mentioned on that page download the one on the first page of this (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,21295.0.html) one.

FS2_Open is great. The missions are the same as PXO at the moment but the graphics are much better.

ok, I got the Open and Launcher files installed. But when I click on multiplayer, no servers show. Is there something I am missing?

Anything would be good for me. I mean, this is such a good game and to have no multiplayer peeps on really burns me up.:mad:

no servers were listed and now I have a problem with my effects. Laser and missle trails don't show.  What do I need to do?

I think you have to set up a PXO name and passwork even tho it says log in failed.
Your weapons could be that yo have tables and you're not suppose to in multiplayer:)

ok, i fixed the lazer and trails, i removed the fs2_open356.vp. Still I see no servers. Am I suppose to have a login name or something or skip that all together?

in the multiplayer tab in the options menu.
click PXO and type a username and a password

I think I do. Not sure what to select. Only thing I have checked is extra art. Assume you are talking about the fs2_open. In the normal launcher I don't have anything in the "force port".

yes. But i still can't enter the user and pw in the game for multi  only on the launcher.

ok, I over-wrote the file with the nettest. I get the login error then it goes to servers or games page. Nothing shows. What now?

i did about 5 secs ago and still nothing shows.

Do i need to copy the fs2open_pxo.cfg in there as well?

EDIT: yes to your last post, infact put all CFG files in you data folder

mmmm. I moved the cfg in there and still no go. Do i need to remove it from the root dir? Would it help if I pasted the multi text for you to look at?

Yes you can delete it from your main directory.
No, that wouldn't help any.
Here is what I'll do.

First tell me all the CFGs currently in your data.
