I can't get the music for FreeSpace 1 in the fs1port.
I mean, I've put the music.tbl in the proper directory and I have the warble_fs1.vp.
The game starts, there are no problem, the music.tbl is accepted, BUT there are no FS1 music in the Great War. The music is still the same (FS2_Amb_01.wav I guess) and never change during the mission.
Precisely, what I have to do to have fs1 music work in fs1 main campaign (FS1port2)?
Thank you!

are you using the SCP?
if so, are you using the mod option? if you are, make sure you've got the correct table dir.
-
Yes I'm using SCP and I've chosed the global installation so it isn't necessary set a MOD.
The table (music.tbl) is in data/tables.
Any suggestions?
-
not really, i'm afraid.
try posting in the port forum (in the hosted forums, somewhere below this one.)

same problem was a couple of weeks ago.
I'll give you a link

Here hope this helps. (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,19790.0.html) :)

AFAICT, the two would need completely different tables, especially since the FS1 tables are arranged differently... THough i do remember GE saying that you'd need to go through each mission and change it to the FS1 music...

Thanks for the link, but unfortunately it didn't help.
Hippo: There is no reference for music in the mission files.
Any others ideas?

[q]Hippo: There is no reference for music in the mission files. [/q]
What?
of course there is... The music is specified in the missions... Press Shift-N in FRED, and you'll see it...
-
Artanis: I told you exactly what to do in the Port forum. You're doing everything right except for one thing: you have to change the music track that's in the mission via FRED. You can do that in the Mission Specs window (make sure you're using v3.5.5 or later).
-
Mmm... It's odd because I've opened the mission file with Notepad and I've noticed No reference to any music track.
I'll try with Fred2 in my spare time.
I'll keep you informed.
Thank you

I've finally succeded in enabling FS1 Music!!!
I was looking for a ".wav" reference in the missions files, that's why I didn't found anything. Then I've searched for "music" and... that's it! At the bottom of the file there was a label reference to the music table file!
So, I've changed all the FS1 missions (extracted from the fs1_port.vp) for using the fs1 soundtracks. A long work, but I need it!
If this edited missions can be usefull I'll post them, just ask.
Thank you for the support, and thanks to the porters! I own FREESPACE 1 but it doesn't work anymore in WINXP. Luckily for me there is this marvellous port.
Tnx again and sorry for my english! :P
