If this happens, I will hurt myself.

If anyone in their right mind thinks this is a good idea, please feel free to find the nearest spike and fall on it.

Hell, the franchise should have been canceled, back when the series was still named Voyager.

Don't hurt the messenger... Well, maybe if it involves my nipples.

Seriously, how on earth can Shatner think he could do that?  Who would WANT him on the friggin show?

I'd've gone for a Picard time-travel thingy.

Like he pops up all shaky and "What the **** was that?" and then Q's like "Y'know, guys, these Sphere guys are pissing off the continuum no end, so we've brung chrome dome back to help you **** them up, Johnny".

But for the mentally retarded among you: APRIL ****ING FOOLS!

Hell, I want to descry Kirk-Fu! Though, Kirk wilt never be complete without Spock, Bones and Scotty :(

Enterprise is boring as hell as it is now. Kirk would be fun! Every alien chick wilt once again be in danger of falling for The Kirk™ Every evil bastard would once again haveth his/her ass handed to them by act of Kirk-Fu™ :D

But yeah, april 1st I guess :p

Seriously, the franchise seemed to have gone all touchy-feely with Picard. It'd be nice to have some old-fashioned Trek ass-kickin again :D

Yeah, when Kirk told Scotty to fix it he'd fix it!

Now, when they tell the Chief Engineer to fix it comes out like this;

"I'll just have to re-align the lateral sensor array by bombarding it with anti-chroniton particles thus shifting it into alignment and out of temporal flux. But to generate these anti-chronitons we'll have to remodulate the plasma relais coils."

By the time they finsh there Treknobabble™ they could've fixed the damned thing :p

It's a shame the only real ass kicking was in TOS - and now everyone only thinks Kirk was a biggoted womanising asshole. Kinda sad.

But it was enough ass kicking to last several ST incarnations and we're still longing for more.

IMO the only person even to come close to Kirk was Sisko. At least he wasn't afraid to kick ass either :D He even poisoned the atmosphere of a planet to get what he wanted, revenge. :drevil:

Nah, chroniton particles will cause Kirk to be trapped in a state of temporal flux causing him to shift into the Ent era. These chroniton particles also happen to induce him with a new style of Kirk-Fu™: Chrono-Fu™! He'll kick your ass to the stoneage! :D

The scary thing is I'd actually watch that. Klingons art the best aliens on the show, especially after the horrible dumbing-down of the Borg.

This is in fact a true statement from william shatner himself. It was an interview done, and i witnessed it, and also witnessed his statement about doing the show Enterprise.

He did say he hasnt given the idea to the owners of the show, but is hopeful they would consider his story. Im betting his story was considered and thrown away, hence the mention in the interview.

See they need feedback, so they let this tidbit go out in the media, or Shatner in this case did, so they can get speculation brewing and either give shatner what he wants, or can the idea altogether based on polls.

So, keep saying it would suck, and most assuredly the writers will make sure he stays written out, but if its popular expect it to be seen in next seasons episodes or the season after as most is pre-written several weeks, even seasons in advance.

So is it real? yes, he did make the statement.
Will it happen? Shatner sure wants it to, but he has said they havent bought the idea yet, and also went further to say they arent even considering it as he is asking for consideration.

Is this post an April Fools Joke, either from the poster or the originating site? No, this is in fact a statement from William Shatner witnessed by me, and was shown on the Television show Spacecast.com about 2 or 3 days ago.

It should have been canceled right after TNG...Voyager sucks uber-extra-big time!
DS9 has some nice battles, but Sisko is nothing more more than a Picard&Kirk wanna-be!

I agree on the VOY part but DS9 was the best since TOS in every friggin way possible.

- DS9; B5 style epic story but in a more... ST way.
- Characters:

-- Sisko; Sure as friggin' hell not a Picard wannabe. Did Picard ever puch Q in the face as easily as Picard did? Would Picard even consider poisoning the atmosphere of a planet to bring a criminal to justice and to get personal revenge? I can continue to rant on about this but meh... Ow, and he ain't no Kirk wannabe either... Else Dax would be in his bed more often then behind her science console :D
-- Garak: Most certainly the most intruiging character ever to be in ST.
-- Odo & Quark: Heh, well, what can I say :p Those two were funny and yet served a MUCH bigger purpose to the story then comedy relief. Odo especially. :D
-- Kira: IMO one of the lesser characters but her background tends to get the ass-kicking ***** side of her on screen :D
-- Dax: Special character on her own. The way she portrait the Trill was excellent. I mean Jadzia. Ezri was... Less.
-- O'Brian: Well, ya can't go wrong with him
-- Bashir: Intruiging as well. His genetically altered body became quite an issue. Also, his adventures with Section 31 were cool
-- Worf: Heh, he was better then in TNG. Here he was an actual Klingon. Not some wussy human/klingon hybrid like in Picards prescence.
-- Martok: Heh, he was interesting. Showed a different side of the Klingons.

- Politics: Quite intruiging to see the political struggle before the war erupted. Klingons wanting blood, Romulans waiting for a chance to backstab someone, Cardassians quietly dealing with the Dominion, the Dominion probing the Federation and infiltrating the Klingon Empire. Hell, even the Breen were slightly involved in the political intruiges :p.

- Battles: Some nice battles you say? Lemme name some: Dominion take DS9, Recapture of DS9, last battle against the Dominion where the Cardies turn on their allies. Sisko building a Defiant in the mirror-verse and beating the **** out of Worf's battleship with it :D. Sisko going after the Maquis ships. The little skirmish in the Gamma quadrant where one of the bugs ram a galaxy class starship. The battle Vs the Breen...

Those are just a few points as to why I like DS9 :D.

Ezri was crap.

Odo and Quark were just sheer genius, and I love O'Brians ducttape&hammer engineering style.

Actually Sisko was nothing more than a Sheridan wanna-be *fans flames*

I didn't mind the later seasons of DS9 but the horrible Deus Ex Machina ending of the series was awful.

I so want Dutch TV to show B5!

I have never actually saw more of the series then a few loose eps. What I saw, I liked, but they stopped broadcasting it. That, and when they did broadcast it, I was too young and it was broadcast too late.

yeah, well, they mostly broadcasted on inhuman times, and they have a habit of starting with a series without announcing it.

lol, and I thought it was an april fools joke!  Now if it really DID happen, I'd lose interest in the show.

I mean, how can they show it?  I guess when Kirk was stuck in that nebula in that movie with the Next Generation where he was imagining a happy life or whatever... just like he was able to jump out with Picard into whatever time, maybe there was a brief moment he was thrown to the birth of the federation?

I don't know why everyone likes DS9 so much, I never could get into it.  Then again, I couldn't really get into any of the ST shows until Enterprise.

Hey guys, what does TOS stand for?

When exactly did he do that? Unless you meant Spaceship.

Still, none of them Trek's came close to B5. Only TOS was occasionaly better than that. Though it too had "Spock's Brain" (then again, B5 had "Gray 17 is missing")

On the subject of Star Trek characters, there are a few pretty good ones: Martok, Damar, Dax, Kor, Kang, Morn.

But the only two who are actual, believable, fully fleshed out, 'real people' are Obrien and Worf.

Mostly because even through the very obvious exteriors of honor-obsessed idiot and miracle worker, they both operate in a very realistic way. They get drunk and talk about women, they remember the horrors of the battles they've fought and unlike characters like Picard, Riker and Sisko they don't go around pretending to be better than everyone else. They know the nightmares will never stop and that life will never be easy, but they know they've got no choice.
