Hi all,
having been out of the picture a long time, I was wondering if there's any new development on this front...I used to use fsmm and that tool Kazan once made, but I have issues with both...mostly the file selection process...would much rather have something I can just point to a folder and tell it to convert that folder to a vp file...anyone already built something like this? If not, is there source code available for the existing tools so I can convert it to a shell-extension?

VPview?
and i am not sure about anything else, click the link under my name to take you to the wiki, it has a list of all the most modern tools
-
Nah. VP view is (unsuprisingly considering the name) just a viewer app.
-
oh.
meh, that'll teach people to read my siggy.

Wouldn't you know, JarC, Volition's original VP creation program does exactly what you need. :)
http://fs2source.warpcore.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/cvsweb.cgi/fs2_open/code/cfilearchiver/cfilearchiver.cpp
You can view it online or download it. Compile that one file and you'll be all set. :)

cool :) even better...didn't know they released it, thanks! well, actually didn't realize it be included in the code...thucked away for perusal...;)

ooooorrr, you could look in Kazan's sig, and get his FS2 toolkit, and get PCS and the random background generator in the bundle too.

yep...I meant VP Constructor, dunno anymore what it was exactly but there was this little annoyance in the way it needed to be used...had something to do with the fileselection I think...is a moot point anyways...
