Well.... a short while back, I posted here about having problems with my stick not being recognised in the 3.5.5 build. It was fine in 'stock' and 3.5 ... but just stopped working.
Well...I just downloaded the latest stable build ( 03 28 04 ) and the stick works fine!
Whatever has been changed, it fixed the problem I had.
Thanks!
-
Eh? Nothings changed that should fix that!
Thanks for bring this to my attension.
Are you using a 'force' setting in the launcher?
-
No....oddly enough!
Due to an abortive attempt at setting up adual boot arrangement, I had to re-install everythng. FS2 included.
I installed the stock game, set it upusing the stock launcer, played a game just to check all was well, and then started the upgrade process.
Since I hadn't burnt the last FS open to CD, I went and downloaded the latest version, and just installed that, along with the Media VP.
I opened up launcher ( 4 ) setup the flags to allow the new graphics to work ( -spec , -pcx32, -jptga, -dnoshowvid ) and fired up the game.
The joystick worked fine, using the detected Cyborg 3D stick ( no force 0 used ) with no worries. Also, as an added bonus, the game exits cleanly with no hang ups!
Seems having a clean install is the solution to my problem :)

Thats very odd!
Im glad your problem is solved but I wish I knew why!
Have you downloaded all the XP updates?
Perhaps you could do me a favour and try and keep an eye on if your joystick continues to work as you install things.
-
I will keep an eye on things!
But, as it stands, I have installed all the XP upgrades and security updates before I loaded any games!

Just for the record, what is the reg entry set at now?

Ok, quick question:
Are you a TVWP Staffy, or not? And if so, for what, and also, if so, why are you not frequenting the forum anymore?
-
The full registry entry is:
CurrentJoystick Dword 0
As I recall, this is how it is supposed to be. Last time, we had to force a value of 1 before the stick would work! Baffling... but if there are any tests or help, let me know! I just wish I could work out exactly how I fixed the problem!!!!
Then...there is the last post from Raa Tor'h .... is that aimed at me? If so, I am not a TVWP Staffy. I think that should cover the rest of the questions too. A little bit more of an explanation wouldn't do any harm either... because I am not really sure what you are asking me.
