shuck it, shuck it long and shuck it hard!
"forced into this situation" by voluntarily helping the MPAA and it's chronies... right
-
Schuck it? What does corn have to do with graphics cards?
-
you don't get the reference.... say it like "suck" with an accent..
-
:ha:!
told ya'll
-
It's hilarious how Slashdot posted that year old news.
-
Suppose to be a joke? Some sort of mad dog joke. I don't really see theinquier as a reliable source anyway.
-
Yeah... the 41.XX part tipped me off, seeing as I'm using 56.XX drivers...
-
/me hugs his Nvidia card.
I'm actually pretty confused here. Who plays DVDs on their computers? Doesn't everyone rip them to a RAID volume, compress them with a handy codec and use them that way? Or is that just me?
-
I use my goddamn DVD player...
-
hmmm....as if I'm gonna watch a DVD on my 17"tube when I got a 35"plasma screen to watch it on?
-
Never noticed that. My MSI Ti4200 uses Conexant CX25871 encoder, and it works just fine for DVD playback. The CX25870 must be getting rather old, then, since my card predates 8x AGP. And if someone is running a GF3, they don't really have much of a reason to use the latest and greatest driver, then, do they?

Actually I did. Sean Connery on celebrity jeopardy to Alex Trebek, if I'm not mistaken.
-
someone submitted that, someone else didn't check the date, then i didn't check the date
looks like it was a bug that it was disabling more than just the output
-
OH NOSSS nVIDIA ARE THE EVIL.
Kazan, please grow up, you don't like a certain brand of graphics card then that's fine but I don't think anyone really cares what YOU say about them. I've had nVidia cards for the past two generations and I've ALWAYS found them to be stable, reliable and fast.
Doesn't stop me drooling like a madman over the 9800xt though, I go where the value is best.
-
Ask any former 3dfx Interactive employee how they feel about nvidia.
Scum of the earth. i don't give a **** how great their cards are.
-
...it's just a graphics company...
-
i was talking about what they were doing with the macrovision **** moron (01010)
-
now, now children - let's play nice

i agree, bloody hell, if you don't like nividia cards, get an ATI one, it's THAT simple..
it's not like your LIFE depends on nVidia or somesuch, does it?
-
are you just stuck or stupid? You're missing the fair use rights violation that they're commiting
jesus ****ing christ you're being dumb as bricks
-
Then buy the other card and put them out of business, there's no need to prove anything to anyone around here. And stop with the insults.

isn't it a bit late to be complaining about it now?
DRIVERS FROM NVIDIA 41.09 Onwards
i believe they're up to 56.72 now.
-
Y'know, it's only really a modified pile of sand (and solder) at the end of the day....... i've never understood the zealotry that seems to surround computer stuff.
-
turnsky: yes i didn't notice the date at first - because who ever submitted it to slashdot and whoever approved it didn't bother to check the date
aldo: ******SLAPS* this has nothing to do with my preference of video cards, god you're being dumb as a ****ing brick and it's getting on my nerves - right now I'm talking about fair use issues, it just happens to be a company i dislike anyway doing it
-
Ok, you had your warning. Stop flaming people.
-
Kazan, if you don't stop with your attitude you're going to be taking a bit of a vacation. There's absolutely no excuse for it. You're supposed to be an adult. Act like it.
