Its a good start actually.
Except for the odd-looking laser pod on the front and the *completely* messed up UVmapping (with the standard texture) I actually like the start of this.
Some things to improve:
- more smoothing, specially on the armor plates
- model the engine pod of it - it'd be pretty cool
- change that laser pod to something that looks better

I'm impressed that you managed to cram 2388 polys into that model :)
Not that it needed that many...
I'm starting to think some of this HTL stuff (what does that stand for anyway?) is all about using polygons to show what should be shown using textures.

That's the V model. All I did was bump the plating. The UV Mapping is right, but for modelview to display it, the texture has to be 512 x 512 or one of those 2^ sizes...
I was only playing around. Since I had a day to kill...

I'd ditch the hull plating altogether, too small to be noticed really. Save the polys for the missile lauchers, guns, cockpit struts and engines. I'd round off the hull a bit more as well, and cut those green bits into it.
