Title: FREDing quiz
Post by: Noise on April 09, 2004, 11:22:21 am
The quiz may seem mundane to people, but for some reason I can't get it to work.  Here's the problem, I want a Hygeia to depart into a small mod civilian liner that has a hangar bay.  How is this done?

In the ships editor
From there: Departure Cues -- Location.
Obviously, the civ liner MUST have a hangar bay. The Hygeia is not always reliable, one of your wingmen may call it for a repair. You cannot block that by setting its Player orders to zero(It only affects you).
I suggest you make an individual, non-docking Hygeia table entry.
If you don't know how to do it, just ask. ;)

I haven`t been able to frequent the boards as I used to because of some real life issues..

Noise, aren`t you using some of Trashman`s models for a campaign your working on?

I`m currently working on some of Trashman`s models, doing pathing and subsystems.. The civi-liner your using, you stated it had a hangerbay, is it pathed?

Would that model also be the Medliner?

Noise, I suggest you post us the model you are using. And, if you are not shy, the mission itself. We could lift you a finger more effectively.

This is only valid if you fail to block the error.

It is the Medliner.  I just put the Hygeia's in and then was called away so I don't know if it's pathed or not.

wait...you are having problems to get it into the hangar bay, correct?
Then disabling the communications subsystems might help (but its actually a rather silly thought).

Hmm, probably not, a way to find out, in fred2 click view, a list will appear, go down the list till you reach (show paths) if it isn`t checked click on it, now all paths should be visiable in fred2..

I have the Medliner completed, instead of a hangerbay I put an escapepod bay, which is fully pathed.. The only problem is the first ship-pack he sent me isn`t done yet and an issue with my free time..

Get ahold of Trashman, if its alright with him I can send what I currently have done.. I`ve got to go for now, i`ll be in touch..

(edit) I`ve got the first ship pack done and i`m sending it to Trashman..

Noise, do you have Trashman`s e-mail address, ICQ won`t let me upload the ships.zip for some reason :(
