Title: Improving FS2 performance (sticky?)
Post by: Fr3z3r on April 13, 2004, 07:40:35 am
Hi guys,

Just to make you work harder - great job, awesome, kixx major arse. I'm rather busy with my business'n'stuff, but I sometimes drop in to see the new wonders and watch them in action. Keep it up.

OK. My suggestion is to make a sticky thread all about the proven methods of boosting FS2 performance. Like a complete answer to a vital question...

"What can I do to make this game run faster!?"

I'm sure many of us will be grateful for it. Registry tweaks, command line parameters, best drivers for FS2SCP, magic potions or divine powers - you name it, but if it works, it should be listed here.

try voodoo (not the card, the magic) it generally works.  First, make a small model of your computer or any part of your computer say, you processor.  Then, get some dry ice and work it like a voodoo doll, cooling the model will cool the card, then you overclock it like a mofo and pray to the voodoo gods that it works

But just to make it easier I'll say pay close attention to the launcher (v4 or above) as it tells you exactly which switchs make things faster or slower (just ignore the -htl switch as that doesn't do anything in newer versions).
