been working on some vasudan modles recently. had what i would call some luck. i have a fighter, reb vas transport, and a super jug.
The fighter. You should reconize the style of this one.

The transport that i intend as a rebal transport.

I have two options for the VSJ st the moment. I like them both.
Option A.

Option B

What do you people think?
-
I'd prefer more of a manta-ray look.
-
Get rid of the long flat "head" towards the front(left part) of the Super Jug and you have yourself a nice looking one. The flat thing.. ugh, just doesn't look right.
-
I think the manta-ray look is very intimidating if modeled correctly.
-
First one looks like Anubis Mk 2, I like it.
-
Boewolf, you're not going to like this, but: the "VSJ" (what's with all of the Superjugs?) concepts look like a hybrid between a Trek-style ship and a Typhon. It doesn't look modern (which any SJ would have to be) or Vasudan with those rods sticking out the back, and the flat area looks problematic. I think it could be done well, but it'd take a lot of work.
-
The VSJ is just a concept. It will probably change a lot as i work on it. the flat area at the front is gone, and the rods will prabably also change when i decide what kind of engines i would like.
the first one is suposed to be an Anubis Mk 2 or MK whatever. I think their is a MK 2 out their somewhere...
-
Almost complete scrap on the sj but i did resorect it as a smaller class. cruiser, corv, small destroyer even?

Typhon successor!
-
That a real Vasuda ship:nod: adn very good Typhon successor.
What i dont like on his is those big turrets:ick:
-
Funny, I was going to ask to 'borrow' Option A to make it a TVWP Pre-Typhon carrier/cruiser.
-
i don't realy like them either. but they are the best i have. If you have better ones you are welcome to put them on.
-
The basic shape is fantastic! I would aim for more curvature, though.
-
ok. their is more curviature on the fowrd and rear outer wings. as yet i havn't had the guts to try with the main body as it has always ended in desaster. So i took a shot for your comparason.

the one on the right looks better imo.
-
I'm liking it :D. Looks really vasudan, in the Typhon strain.
-
Cool. Finally, someone has come up with a worth Typhoon-style warship. Excellent work. I think the TVWP would really use something like that, since they're dealing with the era of Vasudan design in which that style was used.
Keep us posted on the progress, I'de love to see that thing textured.

I'm going to point out that because it is covered with multipart turrets it is inherently too flat to fit Vasudan design, even FS1-era. Lots and lots of flat surfaces don't make a good Vasudan ship, no matter how you try to cover them up. Add curvature (in all dimensions) and it's got promise. And besides, most vas turrets are button turrets, even the big guns, so ditch the big things.
-
Well, of course I'd tweak it if I had it, but that's still not an option at present...
-
The turrets are just their for my own peice of mind so i know where i would put turrets, and how many i would need to kinda cover the hole ship. When it comes to texturing i will try it and let you all be the judge of bad texturing.
If you people at the TVWP like it and think that it would be usefull to your efforts you are welcome to use it. Edt it as you need. I actualy like to give modles away to projects like that, on one condition. I would like a little credit for the whip.
-
All the credit you like. But you don't mind if I round off the top and returret it, perhaps, do you? I may not have to, but I can't see what it looks like as is.
-
I have no problem with you making changes. just tell me which one you want from either the left or right and i will get it online for you to use.
-
Oh.. barely noticed the differences. I like the one on the left, personally.

The scine is here. Vasuden ship (http://users.ncable.com.au/gtbernaldo/dl/vas/)
-
I think you should turn the jug around, make the back (the two prongs) the front ;)
-
Can be done easily enough. But that requires new engines to be made. But i will look into it for you
