I found an old CD which contains my first model fighter craft back in 1998! I was so psyched to find this lost gem of mine. I'm tempted to convert it into freespace considering it was Freespace that got me into fighter design back in the day.
Oh to play with this piece of nostalgia in Freespace!!! =)
These were the days before I was aware of Nurbs or Box modeling. I didn't even use boolean. I recall taking a 3dsmax class and put to use loft techniques to build her. Texturing skillz then was quite challenged as you could see. I didn't even know what UV mapping was! With my current skills perhaps .......I can rebuild her. I have the technology. I could make her better, faster.....
What do you folks think of this early work? Is she worthy of Freespace?

That's from before you learned to model? I'll never be that good.:(
-
If that's your first fighter model, I bow before you. I recently found my first fighter model and it makes my eyes bleed to look at it. :D
-
It definately not a Freespace 2 ship but someone doing a TC/far in the future mod could use it I'm sure.
-
my first model was a space ring station, on 3ds3, at least ten years ago :p
And I didn't know about UV mapping either :D
-
you could try giving it pegasus maps.
-
I don't even want to think about the horrors of my first ever model (call the Claymore, strangely enough........)
:shudder:

I really like her! For bonus points, it's well rendered. ;)

Could you please, please join the Starforce mod team as a modeler?
That would make an even better Zica fighter than my current design (which I can't show you because it would spoil the surprise...). Anyway, I would greatly appreciate it if you could make some ships for me.

Awesome as an alien ship, though not particularly freespacey. Still, as suggested, pegasus style maps could change that.
And Woolie, this is the Star Trek guy! Don't get him distracted ;)
[EDIT]BTW, Woolie, your site appears foobar. It wanted me to sign in as the administrator...

LOL My first ship to appear in a game looked like 3 cubes booleaned together and was in Homeworld. The funny thing was that I could defeat the entire Taidan navy with a squad of 20 of these ships. ;)
Looks very nice Omni, possibly a bit 'spindly' for Freespace, but once again, the stealth option is a good one ;)

It's an old link--my subdomain was lost in a server move.
The new address is:

What would joining StarForce Mod entail? Your site looks interesting, and the fighter designs are absolutely fabulous.
As you could see, my Trek conversions are at a stand still right now due to college stuffs. The upcoming summer vacation will mark my ressurection in this community. I'm looking forward to helping out. PM me with more details.

For the moment I only need around 8 new models. I'll send my concept sketches to you when I get my POS scanner working again.:)
In exchange for the models, you get access to the really cool stuff in the mod that is not available to the public and, if you want, a beta test of the demo once the demo missions are ready.

KOOL BEANS!!!
Once again, my time table is quited finked up until this school year is over, which is in a few weeks. Big open studio show. When that is out of the way and secure job oppurtunities are nailed, I'll be ready for multiple projects in this community.
Can't neglect the Trek folk. =)
