oh, now I see. thank you.

Awesome, !

The picture speaks louder than words, and I like it.
That said, I'd say not to take the report too lierally but to try and extract whatever fraction of the truth is actually there. (Same with all news reports. ;) )

I dont find this funny at all....
You all rascist against arabs or something? Cause it comes from Iran its questionable? Iran is as bad as the US and you all beleive US daily?
And before you answer think about it a little bit please.
-
What makes you think they're directly saying its unreliable? I'd say the pics are a nice general piss take.
Besides, do you honestly believe _any_ news agency isn't biased?
Dude, look around these forums - believe me we do not believe the uS daily
-
All news agencies are biased, but very few will actively fabricate stories.

And you believe that aid workers are really the type of people who get a kick out of pulling stories out of their ass? I believe an individual over a news corporation any day of week.
Nice pic BTW. Says it all :D:D

Sorry can't agree with this at all. Media studies is part of my degree and I know with some level of certainty that Iran has one of the most controlled media in the world. Everything is state censored and highly controlled with many issues completely invisible or marginalized to the extreme.
The U.S. although also controlled operates from a corporate control perspective. The U.S. government doesn't have a daily say in controlling the news stories of the media and you'll often have the same network or the same conglomerate who may make what appears to be a damaging remark about one of its parent companies or runs a story that is in opposition to another network. U.S. and Canadan media are generally censored more by culture and society at large than any strong centralized government agency that absolutely controls the stories.
I don't for a minute believe that U.S. or Canadian media is entirely free or that it reports all of the important stories and I know of all kinds of stories that are marginalized or not reported that are important. But there is opposition to those in these two countries...opposition in Iran is hanged, shot, or otherwise disposed of.
So if I would absolutely question the validity of a news story coming from Iranian state censored media.
Its not at all about racism, its about state control and power structure. Its much easier to fabricate or distort truth of an event under such a system.

Besides, if they all of a sudden, after one year go
"Oh look, here they are. Silly us, they were right here all along. We told you so. No, you may not examine them, you filthy traitor."
that would tend to look a bit suspcious. I predict that if that happens, one half of the US population will buy it, and the rest of the world will not.
Frankly, I'm surprised they haven't done it sooner.

Aldo: Though in practice, state control of the media is more effective than corporate self-censorship, in practice the difference is not reallt that huge. And besides, there IS a government organization to control the media, the FCC. And do you by any chance know who is the chairman/boss of the FCC? Michael Powell, son of one Colin Powell....
State media is not always a bad thing. If you're doing a media studies course, you probably know about the role the media played in the recent coup attempt in Venezuela. You had *I think* 6 major media channels, 5 of which were private and 1 which was state-owned. The 5 private ones were all part of the elite who tried to overthrow Chavez, and put out complete bull**** to make him out to be a dictator. I mean, these guys would put Fox News to shame. And the one state news channel was a way for Chavez to address the people directly and cut through the lies and misinformation.
