Title: Help
Post by: Sirus Flame on April 20, 2004, 09:38:31 pm
Is it possible, that I modded my Freespace to much, because, when I try and go look at the Tech stuff like say the GTF Apollo Prototype, my game crashes..i have only like 3 mods..plus the GTD Wolf campaign, which I can not beat the first mission of that, i do what it says but nothing..it just keeps going forever..the first level. Can anyone help me with either of those?

Well, it is possible to corrupt files, I doubt this is the case.

Remove ALL the mods, all of them.

See if FS2 will start, if it does great!
Now, put ONE of the mods back.
Start FS2, if it works put another of the mods in.
Do this until you find the one that is fubared.

Good Luck!

also, campaigns need their own tables. The SCP has, among other things, a great fix for this.

I suspect that you've got a couple of mods interfering with each other.   The easiest thing to do is to rename your data folder and make a new one to replace it. Copy your players folder over and see if that cures the problem.

Then do as liberator says, install the mods one at a time.

My FAQ has a guide on how to install mods for FS2 so as to avoid this problem. If you're using FS2_open (and you really should be if you're not) follow the link Kasperl gave above as there is something similar there for FS2_Open.

You forgot something kas.

:welcome:
There are some guns under the seats and plasma rifles in the Armory up front, but the Admins are the only ones with the keys.  If you happen to be in the air vents and see a dark vaguely shivan shape that doesn't kill you immeadiately, that's just Carl, toss him some meat and run.  Also, see the stuff that kasperl mentioned, have fun, and don't take things to seriously, this is just an internet forum.

last time I checked, a few months ago admitedly, Home of the Underdogs http://www.the-underdogs.org/ had a copy of FS2 avalible for download.  And some walmarts still have FS2 for under 20$.  if all else fails, you could try begging a copy off of some one here.

The FS2 Download is down on HOTU since Interplay re-released it. Since you're in the USA Interplay's online store will ship it to you Sirius but they'll charge you $50 for it.
