Well this is only the space expansion for galaxies, and word has it that its going to be like a space simulator. Dunno if they're gonna incorporate joystick flight or use the Freelance system. The core game itself is a real-time rpg, when in combat. Think of Knights of the old republic, except you cant pause, and thats pritty much how it is. And if you wish to play in 1st person you can zoom in or zoom out for 3rd person perspectives. Its a really good game. Hopefully when the space expansion comes out, I can finally live to my Master Smuggler status. Get myself a nice corvette and smuggle stuff. I'll also get my hands on a x-wing and blow some ties up too. :D

Why? I don't especially like RPG's (double that for turn based) but KOTOR was a fantastic game and definitely one of the best of last year without doubt.

Hmmmmmmmmm... This could be fun, Star Wars 2K4 ;)

According to the write-up I think it's more like X2 or IWar done to a Star Wars theme, if so, it could be something I've hoped would be written for a loooong time :D

I think I'll pass on this. A game I must be online to play? A game with people I don't know?
two words: HELL NO.

I personally thought it was very boring...

I suppose theres always that problem with online gaming of the git who turns up with his nice shiny B-Wing and fills your weedy freighter full of Photon Torpedoes because he's a bit bored :(

Not so much that but I tend to find with a lot of online games, people just tend to be assholes because they can.
-
Ah, but this is because, when you get right down to it, most people are assholes ;)

Tis sad but true. I had a guy who played a stormtrooper say I was under arrest and asked me to hand over all my weapons to him. Hah! Like I'll do that. Its actually quite scary how many imperial players revel in being an Imp. They almost always act like total assholes and racist gits. Tho racist against Wookies isnt a thing to be concerned about, but the fact that they do it and how vehemently they sometimes pick on other races, is almost a spectacle to behold. There has to be some inner frustration that they're venting out. But I usually fry any Imp that has a problem with me. :D Tis the way of the wookiee.

Hell yeah. :D
Those of you that talk to me on AIM know that it's the medium of when I'm available for chat. You should also note that my use AIM has decreased 90% or so since I've got Galaxies. :)

Well...there goes AotD for another few months :p

Says the pot to the kettle. :p

So, there are other Galaxy-philes amongst my fellow forumites. Interesting.
Though, you'd probably like to know that you can't simply start opening up on your fellow players unless they're declared members of an opposing faction. Elsewise, you have to commence a duel to get in a fight with another player. I'd imagine that in this space expansion, there will be a similar system. Though, I'd also imagine that there won't be any dueling of sorts in space... Could be wrong, though.

Probably find you have Jedi type NPC's patrolling the more commonly travelled areas, policing it.
